I have a '06 Chevrolet Uplander. I changed the battery and now nothing works but the dome light, brake lights and radio. The dash computer keeps saying service engine soon, service ABS system and service brake system. Is there anyway to reset the memory?

You can reset the computer by turning the key to the on position. Don't start the engine. Press the gas pedal to the floor and release it all the way. Press all the way to the floor and release. Press all the way to the floor and release. After the third time it will reset the computer.

Thanks! Have a GREAT DAY!

Yes but my book doesnt show as its for europeon models only ,and after 2005/2006 most vehicles cannot be reset by pressing a knob and swinging from the aerial but only on a dealer diagnostic machine ,its to stop people like yours truely here from servicing vehicles

2005 Chevrolet Uplander engine problem.

Question edited for clarity and all the typos.
Question moved to sub category.

Did you disconnect the battery recently? It could be many things, but it could be the security system immobilizer. You should also check for fault codes. When you say 'nothing works inside', do you mean things like the dome light, the radio, and the dash lights? If that is the case, you need a mobile auto electrician.

2001 Chev Malibu. Turn key on to start car, won't start. No warning lights on no lights on gauge panel. Radio works, dome light work.

check the ground leg to your engine.. it runs off the neg. battery terminal. will connect to frame and engine.. pull it off, wire brush it put it back.. you radio will work, 'cause it draws much less current, and is grounded in dash.

While driving my 2000 cavalier the car completely shut off. when i put the key in and try to start it. it is as if the key is still in my pocket, absolutely nothing happens. the dome light, horn,...

It could be almost anything - immobiliser, engine management, broken wire somewhere, a relay...

No sign of life from the dash probably indicates it isn't the immobiliser but take nothing for granted. The problem should be approached diagnostically rather than throwing parts at the car. A wiring diagram and a test lamp or voltmeter to follow the circuitry until the fault is found.

My 06 sedona wont start just a clicking noise, radio and lights work. Just got a new battery for it and nothing changed. Is there a fuse/relay problem or probably the starter?

Try jumpstarting it. My 06 has done that a few times and jumpstarting has worked every time. Usually, one of the kids left a dome light on or something.

Van will not start. Can hear fuel pump but nothing else.

First thing check the fuses! Turn the key to the on 'run' position and check both sides of every fuse with a test light, or pull them out one by one, but test light is easier! If all is fine check for power on the starter main terminal (power will be constant when in any key position), then check for power on other terminal when in start position! If both powers are present then you will need a new starter!
