I Have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. When the care is switched to reverse it makes a scratchy sound. Do I need a new transmission?

Could be a broken mount and powertrain is shifting.
You could try powerbraking it, hold pressure on brake and give it gas in reverse. If you hear more of this sound it is probably a broken mount and something is rubbing. Use care to hold the brake tight and don't do for extended period. There are engine and transaxle mounts, could be any of them.

Hi Cathy, Have a diagnostic scan carried out on your vehicle. The problem could be with the ABS pump or possibly one of the ABS speed sensors attached on each wheel. Regards John

I have a 2002 pontiac grand prix. my e-brake light will stay on when the e-brake is not on.

Check your brake fluid level. Low fluid levels will cause the brake light to come on. If the fluid is not low, there could be a problem with the emergency brake light switch or the brake fluid level sensor.

How do I remove a message on the display screen. It reads brake fluid low. I had the brake fluid checked and filled but the message won't go off the screen. Is there a way to remove it?

Hi, the likely problem is the level sensor in the reservoir. Try disconnecting the sensor. If this doesn't work, use a thick paper clip to connect the two terminals inside the connector. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

I have an 05 Pontiac Grand Prix. The Brake light and low brake fluid light came on last night. I have plenty of brake fluid and am not losing any fluid underneath. I can't figure out why it came on. ...

remove the connector from the fluid level sensor. If the light goes out, your sensor has failed on and needs to be replaced. If it doesn't go out, the wire has shorted to ground along it's path to the instrument panel. You can probably find the short and just wrap it with electrical tape.

The parking brake light for my 2002 pontiac grand prix comes on and off at will. I applied the parking brake and release it stays on and the goes off and comes back on its confusing to me

Make sure you have the proper amount of break fluid in the resivor. the next time it comes on, pop the hood and unplug the connector that is going to the brake master cylinder, see if it goes out.
Report back if the light stays on. If it goes out then the fluid level sensor is bad. You can replace just the sensor, you do not need to replace the whole resivor.

You will need to get a new washer fluid level sensor. They are like $12.00 dollars and if you can get to an autozone or other parts store they will be able to show you where it is located.
