Sounds like the fuel pump is bad or the circuit for it, anyway.

Follow the wires from the fuel tank to the fuel pump relay.

    Fuel Pump

    REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Fig. 1: A special tool is usually available to remove or install the fuel pump locking cam

Fig. 2: A brass drift and a hammer can be used to loosen the fuel pump locking cam

Fig. 3: Once the locking cam is released, it can be removed to free the fuel pump

NOTE: To gain access to the fuel pump, it is necessary to remove the fuel tank.

    1. Depressurize the fuel system and remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
    2. Remove any dirt that has accumulated around the fuel pump module attaching flange, to prevent it from entering the tank during service.
    3. Turn the fuel pump module locking ring counterclockwise using a locking ring removal tool or a brass drift and remove the locking ring.
    4. Remove the fuel pump module.
    5. Remove the seal gasket and discard it.
      To install:

    6. Put a light coating of grease on a new seal ring to hold it in place during assembly. Install it in fuel tank ring groove.
    7. Insert the fuel pump module into the fuel tank, then secure it in place with the locking ring. Tighten the ring until secure.
    8. Install the tank in the vehicle.
    9. Install a minimum of 10 gallons of fuel and check for leaks.
    10. Install a pressure gauge on the throttle body valve and turn the ignition ON for 3 seconds. Turn the key OFF, then repeat the key cycle five to ten times until the pressure gauge shows at least 30 psi.
    11. Check for fuel leaks at the fittings.
    12. Remove the pressure gauge.
    13. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

Engine turns over but won't start

Start with testing the coil. Disconnect the wire and have someone crank the engine to check for spark. The spark should jump about 1/4 inch. If spark is good, suspect fuel problem. Spray some ether into the intake while the engine is cranked. If it starts and then stops, it is a fuel problem. Your battery is probably going to go dead with all this cranking, so keep a charger on it. Also give your starter time to cool between long cranking.

2006 tahoe is parked on step incline backed in and now wont start

Back to basics, as things fail while just sitting still sometimes. Getting spark to plugs? Correct fuel pressure? Will small spray of starter fluid make it start for a few seconds?

Ether to start cranks then shut off immediately

Have you checked base fuel pressure with a gauge yet ?
Sounds like the fuel pump may have finally died.

1991 eagle talon will crank, but won't start up. 2 days ago I was driving home from work when i turned around in a parking lot and went to my parents house. about a half an hour there i needed to move...

That sounds like the fuel pump may have lost it's prime. Does it have fuel injection, or a carburetor on the engine? How much gas was in the tank while it was parked on an incline? Have you tried any starting fluid sprayed into the air intake hose, toward the engine? Warning! Don't use much starting fluid! Perhaps a one or two second burst, and have someone crank it immediately after you have stepped back at least 6 feet from the engine. If it fires, then it is definitely a fuel delivery problem! But it won't run long like that unless the fuel pump starts working again ... which is most likely when the engine is cold!

Sometimes my 2000 mystique wont start unless i repedally pump on the gas pedal or spray the air intake with starting fluid. what causes this?

YOU PROBABLY HAVE BAD SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.YOU NEED TO CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS AND CHANGE FUEL FILTER.THIS LITTLE TUNE UP SHOULD HELP.ANY TIME YOU SPRAY ETHER DOWN AIR INTAKE TO GET ENGINE STARTED YOUR ENGINE NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR SPARK TO COLD START.YOU NEED RICH FUEL MIXTURE ON COLD ENGINE START UP.AS ENGINE WARMS UP FUEL MIXTURE HAS TO BE LEAN.

1999 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L Replaced starter,

Here is a pic of a schrader valve. They all look about the same.3.jpg
If there isn't much pressure, cycle the ignition without turning the engine over and try again. If it is still weak, you may need a new fuel filter. If it is strong, you may have dirty or clogged fuel injectors.

It may be spark, but I'm inclined to think it is fuel related.

Good luck, and keep us in the loop!

Chevy tahoe wont start its as if its not getting gas

If you think it is not getting gas, then it may not be. You would need to verify this by installing a fuel pressure gauge. This truck MUST have at least 55 PSI. Even a few LBS less, the truck will not start.
If you do not have pressure, or it is low, a plugged fuel filter or faulty fuel pump would be the most likely problem. If no pressure at all, a quick test to check the fuel pump is to have someone in the truck trying to start it, and you go under and bang on the gas tank with a hammer. Many times this will free up a sticking pump. But, it will fail again.
