There are a number of websites on the web that say that they will give you the code for your stereo. My personal experience is they work about 10% of the time. And they cost anywhere from $15-$35. What I suggest to all of my customers, is to go to your local Mitsubishi dealership and talk to the service department. They will give you the right code for free and it will just take them a few minutes to look it up. Sometimes you can call them and they will give it to you. But usually they want you to come and show proof of ownership.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Montero Sport Radio Code

Call your local MItsubishi dealership and ask for the service department.
<BR>They have a computer program where they punch in the serial number from your radio (you have to supply the number) and it will tell them the UNLOCK CODE for your radio. My dealership offered to give it to me free over the phone, if I knew my radio serial number. Enter the code using the buttons on your radio. And write the code down, this will show up everytime your radio looses connection to its power source - the car battery.

SOURCE: Need radio code

your code is 8875

Use the preset buttons 1 2 3 and 4 to set the code (preset 1 scrolls through digits 1, preset 2 scrolls through digit 2, etc)
Then push the mode button to unlock the radio... If you have separate am/fm, cd, tape buttons, try each once the code is in, the correct one will unlock your radio. (it is usually either am/fm or cd)

You need to get the serial number off the sticker attached to the radio. It will require pulling apart your dash. You start at the air vents directly on top of the radio. These tend to be fragile so be carefull when pulling them. You use something skinny like a credit card to wedge between the vents and the trim to release them. Both vents will come directly out in one piece. From there twist off your shift knob. Remove the ashtray. Then pry up the wood trim of the center console. You will then have access to 4 or so screws that hold the radio and climate controls in place. The entire thing comes out as one piece as well. You should see your serial at that point.

You'll have to take the radio out and get the serial number/model number and call the mitsubishi dealer and then they will give you the code. You can no longer give them the vin number. Hope this helps.

Battery was replaced on my 2000 Mitsubishi eclipse and now the radio requires a code to activate. I don't have the code. The radio serial number is: 9X189049A. The model number is: MR 337276. Thanks in...

You can find the code in the owners manual. If you don't have it then call a dealership to get the code. Give them the serial and model #. If they say its going to cost money and for you to bring it in don't do. There are dealerships out there that will give it to you over the phone at no charge.

What is the code for a 2001 galant radio

There is not a generic radio code for any mitsubishi radio. You will have to pop the cover that surrounds the radio off, and take the 4 phillips screws out and slide the radio out of there and get the serial number and the model number off of the radio and call your local mitsubishi dealer and give him the info. They sometimes will try and charge you for this info, but in my experience, if you call around to different mitsubishi dealers, you will find one that will not charge you. Once you find one that will do it for free, give him (or her) the serial number and model number from your stereo and they will give you the code.

Radio code for a Galant Mitsubishi 2002

E-mail Kris at (krisr6@yahoo.com) and she can get you the code. You must give her all numbers from top of radio. Model#, Serial#. I don't think she can get it for you with just a serial number. Also, make sure you give her the model and year of the car. Good Luck

I need to unlock my stereo in a 2001 mitsubishi montero sport

Well any place that services Mitsubishi's can give you the code, like your local Mitsubishi dealership.. but in order to give you the unlock code - you need to give them the serial number off the back of your radio.

Yeah I know. When I spoke to my Mitsubishi dealership's service department they told me that i I brought the car in they would charge me for a half hour of labor (so 1/2 of $75) to find the serial number and do it for me. Then I could write down the code on the owners manual for next time.

Apparently the Mitsubishi software that the dealers have, has a little wizard where they plug in the radio serial number, and the software spits out the unlock code. They said they would give me my code over the phone for free, if I had a means to get my own serial number.

Factory stereo code

Factory radio codes are an anti-theft deterrent, they are unique to each radio and car serial number, in order to get the code the dealer will have to access the manufacturers data base, you will need to pull the radio and record the radio model number and the serial number of the chassis of the radio and take it to the dealer, they will not in most cases give the info out over the phone, this would defeat the whole purpose of the code.
