I have the same problem and it is not a bad fuel issue or to much gas because I have ruled these out. If it is a sensor wouldn't a check engine light come on? If not, I will look into this but I had a mechanic say it could be the oil pump for the injectors. Dunno but I need to get it fixed once my truck warms up (the engine) it runs great. I live in a warm climate but it still does it untill engine temp guage is past the line. Any goes?

I had a very similar problem and it turned out to be that a glow plug caught on fire and shorted out the whole system all the way back to the pcm.

You know a problem with the Fords is that the fuel tank level indicator can start reading higher than normal if you are pushing the level in the tank to the brim when fueling. So be sure that you have fuel. If you ran out of fuel the fuel line will need to be primed. If thats the issue I can supply more information on how to prime. Also bad fuel will not allow the truck to run, especially water. The sensor should indicate water issues. Also whats the temperature where you are? Later hope this helps.

This is most likely a cam positioning sensor. You should have gotten a recall for this. Ford will replace for free. they did on mine it is about a 10 minute job and before that I carried an extra in my glove compartment

03 f250 superduty 6.0 starting problem

Not completely sure of the part name but it think its called fuel injector pulse switch, this freaking switch its right under the turbo's heatshield, on the rear of the block, the ecu that's on top of the driver's side valve cover needs to come of to gain access , there's absolutely no room for any tool, a 1-1/8" crows-foot wrench along with a lot of patience is needed, goog luck!!!!

I have a '99 ford F250 with a 6.0 turbo powerstroke. i am trying to find out how to drain the water out of my fuel line and/or seperator. the owners manual shows a leaver under the drivers door inside the...

you will need an allen wrench to remove the scre w facing toward the trans. look like a quarter with an allen in the center. not hard to find. once it is drain all over your arm, reinstall and turn the key off and on for 3 times then start and let it run for 5 mins. if you don't it will stall on you if you try to drive right away. change the filter under the hood if your are going to do all that. best of luck.

Truck will not start

check to make sure you are getting fuel, when an electric pump heats up they quit working, then when they cool down they might start workig again until it heats up again. or if you have a performance chip in your pcm they short out pull out chip and see if problem is still there

Stalled and will not run for more than a few minutes now

there is a recall on the cam sensor that is causing these to stall. i had the same problem and after letting it go for two weeks it finally wouldn't start and i burned up the starter, so i recommend taking it in as soon as possible. all work should be free at any ford dealership, just be cautious because they always wanna do more than they have to.
