I believe you're problem is more likely to be a bad connection on the battery....Clean the connectors and the towers and try again....Boiling water is good for cleaning, you may have to use a wire brush in which case watch out for your eyes, the oxidization is acid....After cleaning put a light coating of white petroleum jelly (Vasaline) NOT grease....Good luck Regards Johngee10
