Question about 2004 Nissan XTerra

Open Question

2005 Nissan Xterra Air Conditioner Problem. Worked fine all summer then all the sudden I can not get my AC switch to come on. If I put the climate control switch to MAX and turn the blower switch to possition "1" the AC & Recirc Air lights comes on but the blower does not come on. If I quickly turn the blower switch to 3 or 4 I get a blast of cool air for about a second but the lights AC & Recirc go off and the AC light will not come back on when pressed. Heat seems to work fine except when the blower switch is in possition "1" and the blower wont come on. So with the blower in possition "1" 1) the blower does not blow 2) if the AC is set to max the blower does not blow but the AC & Recirc lights come on and will not go out when pushed, quickly turning the switch to "3" or "4" will blow cold air for a second and then the air gets warm I can not get the AC light to on in any other setting when pressed. The blower and heat work fine on any setting other than "1" This sounded like the control switch to the mechanic I normaly use so I purchased a new one and had it installed and nothing has changed.

SOURCE: 2000 sebring convertible - heater fan only blows on full blast,

you need to replace the resister block for the fan speeds... it is located in/on the duct work near the fan. you will see a connector and two or three screws holding it in.

SOURCE: max air button does not respond

"MAX" ONLY puts the climate control in the RECIRC mode. Door modes change to " RECIRCULATE" interior cabin air back to be RE-COOLED, instead of using HOT OUTSIDE air to cool. If the problem is in the panel, complete replacement is required. Hope this helps

My air conditioner is not working on my 2005 Nissan quest se. what may be the problem? it was working fine yesterday. there is plenty of antifreeze

anti freeze has nothing to do with air conditioning
shaking at speed is , tires, wheel alignment, suspension parts or balance and again is not related to air conditioning
working one day and not the next suggest a leak in the ac system and now the low pressure switch is not allowing the compressor to work
So to cover your problems
take the car to an accredited auto ac specialist shop and have it checked for leaks and gas
then take it to an accredited suspension for a thorough check of the front end , then have a wheel alignment done

The defrost, heater and Ac all went out on my 1993 maxima.

If the blower worked, but couldn't get cold air, there may be a leak of refrigerant in the A/C system. If you're complaint is about the lack fan-forced air; that could be a problem with the fan speed switch or a bunch of other places. Most often however, it is the speed control resistor. Nissan Xterra 2011 No heat just blow cold air, coolant level is full.

Most newer cars use vacuum from intake manifold to operate the flapper doors which select heat modes. A vacuum leak or dislodged line can cause this problem. As you replaced the evaporator I would suspect a line was broken or disconnected at that time.

2002 xterra a/c freon leaks out but it's not the hoses.

The front seal on the AC compressor is very likely the problem here. It can leak with no apparent signs of leaking like older R12 systems because the oil used in the R134 system is synthetic and it evaporates.

My AC worked great until last year and then after a power steering hose leak was discovered, the ac until stopped blowing cold air. I took it and paid 75.00 to have it recharged with coolant and it worked...

My air conditioner started blowing hot air last summer. I put coolant in it and didn't run it until the beginning of summer this year (2011). All of a sudden it started working again. Sometimes it blows hot but if I keep it running full blast the coolness comes back. I don't know why this happened.

Air conditioner wont turn on

It might be the fuse for the AC compressor. Check to make sure the blower motor/fan is working by putting it on heat, or vent and adjusting the level from low to high (not temperature). Fan speed. Hope this gets you started.

Air conditioner hit and miss

Sounds like you AC did. gve out that is. The A?C appears to need a boost of refrigerant.
