First thing to check is the instrument cluster fuse located underneath the drivers side steering wheel. Pull the fuse box cover lid off and flip it over and you will find a diagram showing what each fuse controls. Pull the burned fuse out and replace it with the same number fuse and your instrument cluster lights will work again. Also make sure your dimmer switch is turned all the way to "Max" If your fuse is good and your dimmer switch is turned all the way up and still not getting any light then you will need to replace the little light bulbs in the back of your speedometer unit by removing the cluster and twisting them out of there mounting position adn installing a new bulb

It is quite likely to be a failed shift solenoid, causing inability to find low gears. There should be a trouble code stored, causing the O/D lamp to blink.

My '97 4 cylinder Toyota Camary automatic

Get a readout from the car's computer to see if there is a trouble code stored, which will give a good clue to the problem.

Camrys of this age often have a shift solenoid fail in the transmission, which will cause the symptoms you describe,

Transmision wont go into gear no drive indicator

Did you replace the lost transmission fluid and rechecked the oil level after starting. Secondly if the torque converter moved forward without you knowing it, the converter may not be properly connected to the front pump and it won't be working Lastly ensure that all electrical wiring connectors are properly connected and not loose.

1991 toyota camry automatic. Transmission is fine

sounds like you may not even have a 4th gear. worst thing is you may need a new transmission. try putting in some "Lucas Transmission Fix" it's like $12 at Autozone.. If that doesn't help, take it to a transmission shop and have them check inside your transmission to see if you need a new transmission or if it's something that could be fixed. It may even be a sensor.

1990 Toyota Camry transmission won't go into any gear

you didn't make clear you have a automatic trasmission or manual?
if is a manual trasmission you have to look the clutch and to valves that is puting the trasmision oil pressure to move the clutch one at the end near the gear box and the second after the clutch pedal outside of the cabin imediatley after the pedal. you have to look to the oil level in the rezervoir, if you dont have the problem to bay some oil and to change completely the oil first maybe the right solution to begin with oil change first , may be is freeze from the dirties finded in the oil pipes and valves.
if you have the automatic trasmission sorry i dont know, because the problems there are more complex.

Check the automatic transmission fluid. If it smells burnt or looks any color other than redish replace the trans fluid. Most likely the fluid is low or really dirty.
