Mini has been switched off but the fan has not stopped running for past 60mins after an hour of driving in warm conditions, with some constant gear changing. Is this a problem?

Should not still be running. It will run down the battery. Better remove the fan relay and see if you need a new one. Could also be the temp switch on the engine. Sorry, but I don't have a manual for Mini to tell you where these things are. Let me know if you have questions.

Hello I have 2002 envoy check engine light is on!! O riellys could not get any codes!! Engine idles and switches gears fine its just hesitant and is making a fan noise constantly like when u take off...

If the check engine light is on, there is a code, or codes, lodged in the computer's memory. Try having your vehicle scanned elsewhere. They might not have done it correctly at OReilly's.

Hi guys I am new on this, I will start all over, I got this big problem for me, I got this 2002 huyndai elantra gt, 1 week ago I was driving and the heat stopped working, no radiator leak, everything...

Ok, here is my take on your problem. As you may already know, it takes a car a few min. to actually warm up to operating temp. When the coolent reaches operating temp. the thermostat opens to circulate the coolent in the radiator. Now, as your drive, the air pushing against your car will actually blow some air through your heating system ducts and into the passenger compartment. Is it possible that your blower fan isn't working? Because while you are stopped, there would be no air forcing its way through your ducts, thus no heat. As your drive, your car gets up to operating temp, heats up, and the air pressure as your drive will blow some heat out into the passenger compartment? On a side note, if your thermostat is stuck in the open position, it would take it forever to warm up since it is circulating ALL the coolent even tho it isn't at operating temp. A thermostat stuck open will take 30 min or more before you actually feel any warmth, if at all in the winter.. your thermostat opens and closes constantly as the engine is running to keep it at its normal temp, usually around 160-180 degrees. If you live where it gets really cold, a thermostat stuck open likely will never get warm. If your blower motor works, and your engine don't overheat, im 98% sure its your thermostat.

Mini fan stays on when engine is switched off

You may try to ask the Dealer for the proper operation of this fan. Some of the other Manufacturers use to let the fan run after the vehicle was parked.

The reason for this is simple if you consider that cooling the hot parts is done by the wind rushing past your vehicle while you are driving it. But when it is parked, the heat can accumulate under the hood from the exhaust parts. Combine that with the Sun beating down on it and the heat can stress many plastic parts.

If the fan runs for 5 additional minutes and not for 30 minutes, then this is probably the design of the vehicle. If this continues to be a problem, replace the Relay to the cooling fan. It may be stuck.

I have a 2005 Mini cooper s with milage of 38K it has been serviced regularly by Mini, however when the car is sat still and running for instance in traffic the car will overheat if left on it will over...

You first want to check that you have the proper level of coolant. The air blowing over the engine as you drive faster speeds is enough to help cool the engine, however at stop the heat just lingers around the engine. If the coolant is slightly low I would expect to see this. Coolant is also what is used to heat the car, so if it was low it also make sense that you may get gaps in heating the cabin. Hopefully the coolant is just low and this is an easy fix.

From what your saying it starts to over heat at stops, check your radiator cooling fan, sounds like it's not working, could be a fuse or the fan motor it's self.
