Have changed the battery in my 06/06 Hyundai Elantra sedan and now I can't find the radio code. I have taken the radio out of the dash as a friend told me if I phone up Hyundai with the Serial Number of the Radio they will be able to give me the unlock code. I cannot see a "serial number" anywhere on the radio. can you help?

I decided to buy a new, surplus Hyundai radio to replace the one with problems. Do I need to go to the dealer once I install it to give the dealer the code so radio & car can communicate?

Hi Marge
I may be wrong.... but

As far as I am aware the Radio doesn't communicate with the car engine management computer.

It just gets 12v from Battery, signal from the Antenna wire and
connects to 2 or more speakers via the wires in the dash.

A security code may be required to activate the device.
This was done to discourage theft.

Connect the unit up to 12v on a workbench & connect a simple wire as a temporary antenna and a cheap speaker or 2 to the speaker output wires.

Saves you the bother of finding out if it works or not before you install in the dash

Good Luck

If the battery was disconnected and the radio is factory fitted and needs an activation code .... then you need to enter the activation code

I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra, I changed the battery , now I need the reset code for the CD player HM 5064. I cannot find my manual. Can anybody help?

Normally the Audio (Radio CODE) is noted in the owner's manual. If you don't have it, you must contact Hyundai Motor America and give them the Vehicle VIN number... they may then (possibly) be able to give you the CODE.

Hyundai eleantra slx Has ticking noice coming from dash, radio. It's not every day but gets very annoying. Also, when I've not travelling at speed , approx 10km the care stalls. This isn't an every day...

That is exactly correct - if it doesn't STAY broken, it's very difficult to find the 'cause' of the problem. I believe you when you say you hear a ticking noise, but unless I actually hear it myself, I wouldn't know where to look. With regard to the engine stalling, wiring is usually the culprit (connectors, pins, gounds, etc.).

Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.
