Question about Chevrolet 1500

1 Answer

I have a problem with the rear brake lights, hazard lights and the blenker lights not working. I do have parking lights and the single brake light above the back window is still working. I have check all the fuses and the relays and they are all fine. The truck has a towing package but it doesnt seem to have anything to do with the problem. I was just seeing if anyone knew what the issue could be with this thing.

The problem is most likely with the turn signal switch, since the brake lights use the same bulb elements as the turn signals, the wiring runs through the turn switch which is why the center light still works fine.

Left front turn signal does not flash. Left rear OK. socket was corroded so I replaced socket. No flash. Checked wires for voltage, only the parking light connection ever gets anything. Front and rear...

Try pushing the Hazard switch on the Column several times and see if it restores the connection. From what I understand about the Multifunction Turn switch is that some of the contacts share connections with the Hazard Button.

The contacts work on a type of derailer setup and when the contacts get dirty or wear, things stop working. Moving the Hazard switch resets the points and springs each time you go in and out of the Hazard setting.

If your brake light is working you know the wires to the light socket from the brake switch are okay. Probably would not hurt to check brake light switch as it shares the common wire. The split between the left turn and right turn signal wire has to occur, yet the opposite brake light will stay on steady while the other side blinks.

I just replaced the chasis on my 94 chevy 1500 series had brake lights before but no rear park lights now all i have is signal lights any thoughts on this

Check ground wire at frame at rear. Brake lightsand hazards don't use this ground so they work if it fails, running lights will not.

Emergency Flashers totally out, Rear lights malfunctioning

Check the ground on the passenger side rear lights, it's likely bad. As for the hazards, sounds like a bad flasher or fuse.
