Question about 1992 Ford Ranger
Only one coil will fire during cranking. The other coil will only fire when running. This system uses spark on the intake and a spark on the exhaust. Is the vehicle able to start? The vehicle while cranking starts on the exhaust side plugs after it's running will fire the intake plugs.
Dual Plug Inhibit System Notes PURPOSE
Dual Plug Inhibit (DPI) allows the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to switch the ignition system from single to dual plug operation.
During cranking the vehicle is in single plug mode (only the plugs on the right side of the engine are firing). The PCM sends a command to the Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) module to switch to the dual plug mode (both plugs in each cylinder are firing) when the engine is started.

drags down and then clicks? then is a dirty batterie post if that is not it, then there is a fuel problem to check, starting fluid spray through the intake air, make sure not to spray directly onto the map sensor.
