I am hoping that it is just a coolant hose , however , it sounds like it might be the water pump. If your car has the 2.5 V6 , the water pump is inside the timing belt cover ,and runs off the timing belt. On that particular engine , it is a nasty job even for a good mechanic , not something you can do yourself unless you have done these things before. If that is what it is , the water would be driping out of the plastic cover that is tucked in behind the main (crankshaft) pully. If you decide to get a mechanic to repair this , I would expect him to tell you that he is also replacing the timing belt. Once you have that whole assembly taken apart , you might as well throw a new belt on at the same time. A FOOT FORWARD OF THE AXLE makes me hopefull that it is not your water pump.

Check the temp gauge in the car, is it overheating? If it isn't, check the engine where the belts are. If there is coolant coming from there, it is probably the waterpump. If it is further in front of the engine, probably the radiator.

Did you check to see if you have water or anti freeze in the oil? You could have a blown head gasket. This would be why you are adding fluid so quickly. let me know.

Car stalling out and bot starting after being driven for awhile.

mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.

It's likely rusted out transmission cooler lines. Only way to tell is to take a look under it. Might be able to see some of the line by opening the hood.

I HAVE A 1999 DODGE STATUS - TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS

your ultradrive transmisson has failed, and your stuck in limp home mode. you have 3rd and reverse.

that was the good news.

the bad is that you need a new transmission. the ultradrive transmissions are very problematic. do a wikipedia.org search on chyrsler ultradrives and than write a really angry letter.

your not the only one that transmission has left of the side of the road

Brakes are very touchy after sitting

I thought the caprice had disk on all wheels?? But it sounds like it's time for the rear brakes to be serviced. If you do have rear drums the pads could be worn and the shoes are slipping and grabing. You can try backing up in a empty parking lot and backing up and giving full brake application. About the 7th application would reset the brakes, if that does not help then the breaks need to be serviced. Good kick
