You unbolt the bolt holding it on, and use one special tool to pull the clutch, and two special tools to put the new one on. The tools are dedlcated for this job, and generic pullers will not work.

98 Pontiac Grand Prix load front end roaring?

Defective fan clutch, if it has one. With a cold engine only, try spinning the fan blade by hand. If it does not turn freely, the fan clutch is defective. Warning: When the engine is hot, the fan can turn on by itself with the car not running and keys are NOT in the ignition.

Can i replace just the a/c pulley and not the entire compressor (squealing loud) on my 2000 pontiac grand prix gt

Yes you can on earlier models of AC compressors but this is a american model car and i have never seen one so i couldnt say for definate but i do it all the time on earlier cars thats accesable like a renault or a VW but you will need a big pair of water pump pliers to hold the clutch still whilst you undo the nut in the middle .

98 grand am grinding/ A/C Compressor???

hi yes it sounds like the clutch or the bearing the job is not bad to do if you just do the clutch you will not loose any freeon if you replace the compressor you will need to have it recharged. as for used there is usuraly no gurantee that it will work.your best bet is to go with a rebuilt or new. you will have to replace the compressor oil and freeon.
