Sounds like the alternator may be bad which in turn makes the battery bad also. I would try charging the battery out of the system(car) and then once charged put it back in and see if it starts. Hope this helps Tim

Why wouldn't it start/restart?

When you got the jump start, you were able to drive while the alternator tried to charge the dead battery. After you stopped at the other end, the battery died completely and may have shorted internally, which explains why your vehicle could not be jump started again. Obviously, that very dead battery will havet o be replaced.

Whrn go to start. Car after turn to start potion all windows and radio stop working

First try a jump start. Most likely a dead battery. Or loose/ corroded batt terminals. Possibly a fuse. When attempting jump turn all electronics to off

Car will not start

this doesn't sound good at all. if you couldn't jump start it within a few minutes, you should have stopped right there. maybe you were jumpping the car wrong, from doing so, you may have fried the computer, that rounds your entire engine. try installing a new battery, if any codes were stored in the computer, clear them out. some times just removing the battery cables for a few minutes will do this . sometimes not. try to start the engine. donot jump start, see if will start on its own. if not, seek professional help, keep blaming goodyear until you get results !!!!!!

98' Cav.. Drove it to store, shopped, didnt leave anything running or turned on. Went to car, opened dr...no dome light (thought, hmph, must have burned out -- fix later). Tried to start car... I turned...

this sound to me like at first I thought it was a fuse, as the problem went on it shifted more toward a weak cell in the battery, if a weak cell sits for a little while the battery will not hold the charge in that cell and that will cause loss of power, "its charge", in tne other cells. you had mentioned you used another battery and it ran great but when the battery was removed, things went wrong. You may check to see if there is water in your battery

When you turn the key over it is not starting, it

If its just one click each time you hit the key, may be starter. I would check to make sure the battery is not dead or bad. If it is a bunch of clicks at once, its probably a dead battery. But why is it dead? Possible- Old battery, left lights or power on, maybe didnt close door all the way, or alternator going bad and not charging battery. Try to jump it or charge/replace battery.

Battery dead, or starter problem? My 1992 381i won't start. The battery has at least some juice in it (I can turn the headlights and interior lights on). But the digital clock has re-set to 0:00,...

It is most likely a flat or dead battery but first check the battery terminals are clean and firmly attached.
If all above checks ok replace the battery.

There are several reasons why an attempted jump start may not have worked, such as :-
1) the jump cables used are poor quality,
or
2) the battery used as a power source may not have sufficient capacity.

Car wont start, acts like battery is dead. battery shows full charge. full lights, buzzers, etc. put it on charger-didnt start...cleaned cable connections-didnt start...tried to jump with truck-didnt...

Check the battery +12v power connection to the starter is in good order,
Check the ground connection between the battery negative and the engine/starter motor is robust and intact.
If no problem with above, replace the starter motor.

Car starts with jump and drives but wont start by itself

well if the altenator is charging it will run after getting a jump, you replied you put a battery charger on it but that dont mean the cold cranking amps are good or it could have a dead cell. I would have the battery tested for sure. If you didnt drive far after jump the altenator may be bad but having the battery charged and still does it tells me it is least likely. If the battery tests good the cables could be corroded under the sheath where you cant see. There are other reasons but from what you have posted sounds like you need a battery most auto stores test them for free (load test also)

Car is dead

Well to start with the car would start if hooked up to another for jumpstarting.....This is what you should do....First before hooking up cables turn on your headlights ,,probably they didnt turn on cause of dead battery...turn them off and hook up cables ,prior to trying to start, turn on lights again if still no lights which is what i predict means faulty connection either with cables or corroded or loose terminals attatched at battery...clean and tighten as necesary and repeat procedure....Good Luck
