Question about Ford Crown Victoria

1 Answer

I have a 1997 ford crown victoria. The only way the heat works is if I run a wire from the heater blower to the negative battery post. So I wanted to know what part do I need that will work the heater blower motor or does it sound like it could be a shortage in the wire somewhere? Also, even when I hotwire the blower motor the vents do not open and no heat blows inside the car. Your swift response would be greatly appreciated.

If it was me i would check all of the ground going to the blower motor it maybe a bad wire inside the motor itself and i would also look for a good used one check this website out to see if you can fine a good salvage yard near you also give these websites a try to see if they maybe helpful to you and if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your car wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Can you boost off a 99 crown victoria battery

Yes, you can. Be advised to hook the positive cable to the positive posts first ( + ) on both batteries, then the negative cable to the "good" battery negative post ( - ) next, then to the "bad" battery's negative post.
It is preferable to do the last step hookup to the engine block (or somewhere else that is steel) than the bad battery to prevent a spark which very rarely can make an explosion.
Also remember. Your alternator is not a battery charger. Therefore, if and when you decide to "boost" someone else off, after you hook up the cables you may well need to have your car engine running about 1,500 RPM and leave the cables to the "bad" battery on for about 5 minutes.

If you have eatc and the blower stays on with the system off. It is your blower speed controller. It's located under the hood in the evap. case under the heater hoses. Follow the wiring from over the hoses.

95 Ford Crown Victoria. Battery light came on. Bought a new battery. After driving for awhile battery light cuts on and off. Radio, heater, and lights keep cuting on and off. When I step on the gas after...

easiest check is to put a voltmeter on the battery posts. Should be 14 volts or over with engine running. If not alternator may have 1 or more bad diodes.

Also, clean all the battery connections, incluidng small wires on poitive post, if present.

Battery wont charge in my 1997 ford crown victoria

In the 1995 and later Crown Victoria's, there is a fuse in the fuseblock that controls the alternator's charging of the battery. If that fuse is blown, your car will drain the battery and cut off as you stated.
Check the fuse block under the hood and the one located on the left driver side above the hood pull.
