Check your gascap, make sure it is tight. Check your PCV valve and look at large hoses going to a canister. This code means you are not getting the proper vacuum in the system that vents your gastank or engine.

Code po456 on my 2006 mustang 6 cyl. is there an easy fix

This elaborates more on the code.
P0456 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Very Small Leak)
Description:
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the complete evaporative emission (EVAP) control system for the presence of a very small fuel vapor leak. The system failure occurs when a fuel vapor leak from an opening as small as 0.508 mm (0.020 inch) is detected by the EVAP running loss monitor test.
Possible Causes:
• Very small holes or cuts in the fuel vapor hoses/tubes
• Loose fuel vapor hose/tube connections to the EVAP system components
• EVAP system component seals leaking. See the Possible Causes for DTC P0442
Diagnostic Aids:
Check for a missing fuel filler cap or the integrity of the cap.
Check for loose or damaged vapor hoses. Visually inspect the EVAP canister inlet port, CV solenoid filter, and canister vent hose assembly for contamination or debris.

Po456

PO456 is a small leak in the evaporative emission controls. It could be a loose gas cap. If the gas cap is on correct, look for a crack in one of the vapor hoses. There are several hoses. Check the vapor hose from the gas tank to the engine, and then check all the hoses connected to that hose. If you can't find it, take it to the shop. The mechanic will blow "smoke" into the hoses and look for the one leaking.

Have po442 and po456. What does this mean? check engine light is on.

Hi, both codes mean: Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (very small leak).
This may be a very tough issue to diagnose or it may be a simple problem like a loose gas cap. Check the gas cap, and visually check for any loose hoses under the hood and under the car.
Take care
