If you pull back the interior trim panel on that side you will see the cable/rod that keeps the door from opening when the fuel door is open.

Maybe its connected to a control panel (left side driver door) that needs to be activated. Some door switches have a safety feature that won't allow opening automatically. Check that feature.

Do a reset on the door system, by pulling the door fuse. I don't have location, possibly drivers side fuse box.

Sliding door wont slide open on my 2004 dodge grand caravan, whats causing that to happen? It's both doors.

Is this only from the Inside? are you able to open from outside? If its only from inside that you are unable to open, the it may be the CHILD SAFETY switch on each door while door is open look at the front of each door you should see a switch that reads CHILD SAFETY, it designed to keep children from opening door from inside while vehicle is in motion. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Rear doors not opening from inside car ?

Perhaps the child safety locks are flipped to secure. With the doors open, look at the door latch and you should see the safety slide switch right there. The doors will not open from the inside if the switch is set to lock. Slide it to unlock for normal operation.

2005 Toyota Sienna LE Driver Side Power Sliding Door When the door is closed and latched, the motors makes noise, and the door moves the tiniest bit, but it doesn't open. The same happens in the fully...

Try this... it fixed my problem whereby the 2005 Toyota Sienna passenger sliding door would sometimes open and sometimes not, yet I could hear the motor trying to open/close it. It cost me 20 minutes and 10 drops of oil, not $1200.

First, get the door open. It took me two weeks of constant trying, but it finally opened.

Next, remove the plastic covering of the inside door handle this way: locate the two screws on the forward edge of the sliding door near the child-safety switch: (the switch is a small lever near the door latch, on the forward edge of the door) loosen and remove the two phillips screws, one above the child-safety latch, and one below.

Remove the plastic cover to expose the gears for the door open/close mechanism.

There's a bunch of intricate plastic and metal parts in there, all coated with white grease. I used some 3-n-1 oil to lubricate everything in there thoroughly, In my case, there was one part that was a little void of grease, hence it "stuck" occasionally.

Test the system. If it's Okay, replace the plastic cover, and re-install the screws.

Now my Toyota Sienna 2005 door never fails to open or close.

If it´s the passenger side where the gas tank fill is, there is a automatic safety device that locks the sliding door, that prevents to open the door while filling gas, be sure that the folding cover of the gas tank is fully closed and nothing is jammed inside

What causes drivers side power sliding door not to open automatically with switch or remote.Even manually it won't open or close by itself.

Hi,

Thanks for using FixYa!

The most probable cause for this problem is blown fuse. Check for the door fuse under the dashboard. You should be able to see a fuse diagram found on the fuse box cover. I hope this helps.

Thanks and have a nice day.
