Question about 1989 Ford Ranger

1 Answer

Communication I am for a looking diagram which, merely, labels the parts of my truck. I live 100 miles from my mechanic. When I talk with him on the phone I need to describe what I am looking at. It would help our communication if I knew the names of the things I am looking at. I don't want to be a mechanic but I want to be able to communicate effectively when I speak with him. I think the parts for all motors have similar or the same names to describe the parts at which I might be looking. Things I know, like valve covers, oils pans & filters, struts, brake items, etc. for general maintenance. Many I don't, but have heard of, like bell housing? cover? Is there anything you know of like this available ? (Aside from the 1 ton technical repair manuals theat it takes be hour to look through?)

Service engine soon

What? Try having a mechanic look at the O2 sensors in the exhaust, expect to spend $200.
Cheap? Buy a can of "SeaFoam" at Advance Auto Parts ($9) and add to tank per at least 100 miles.
Good Luck
