It's not supposed to. Pull the fuse for the compressor clutch to see if it is still running the compressor. If it does, that means the clutch bearing has seized. Not sure if the bearing is replaceable or the whole compressor has to be replaced. Hope this helps!

My ac needs refridgerant but i want to check to make sure the conp is good will it work if i jump the reciever drier sensor to kick it on to make sure?

probably not as there are two sensors that have to be shorted to make it work. better to disconnect the clutch wire at the compressor and connect directly to the positive terminal of the batter with the engine running
Question is why would you suspect the compressor when you know that it needs refrigerant
Take it to an accredited ac specialist shop and they will check for leaks before doing anything.

I would recommend that you check the fuse panel. Take the fuse out and replace it w/ a new one.

Installed brand new starter, battery fully charged, and still wont crank. It starts when I kick start it. 1988 nissan pathfinder. What else could be the problem? Relay switch? Or ignition? Please help

Check the ignition switch, and the wiring to the starter solenoid. Get someone to turn the key to the crank (start) position and check for voltage at the starter solinoid. Check the starter relay and all fuses.

1988 Nissan Terrano/Pathfinder big problem!!!!

Have you all checked the Oxygen sensor? And the Mass Airflow sensor? Either of those could do it. If both of those check out, make sure the fuel pump relay is kicking in/out, and make sure it works period.

this first to do is check wiring to compressor clutch, when ac is not working check the ac clutch it should be engaged, test for power and ground at ac compressor clutch, you may have a bad wire to clutch or a bad compressor clutch,8226523.pngc97e168.giff41b56b.gif672ce29.gif
