SOURCE: cruise control stopped working in my 2004 Hyundai Sonata

I was having the same issue with my recently purchased 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe...Check your taillights/brake lights. Turns out, they are tied into the cruise control system and if one is out, the cruise control stops working. When I bought the vehicle, I knew the taillight was out, but did not know the cruise control was out. I still would not know they were tied together (and that I had unknowingly repaired the cruise control) if not for a post found here:

hope this helps :) and happy motoring!!!

Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.

SOURCE: 2005 hyundai sonata oil light flickers. oil

Yes there is a sensor located on the front of engine on the transmission side(single wire). It cannot be "reset". Possibly loose connection at the sensor,or a faulty sensor, OR... you could be losing oil pressure inside the engine somewhere(lets hope not) these engines are designed to run on very low oil pressure compared to cars of days gone by. The sonata 4 cylinder runs about only 12 psi. The V6 is 7.6 psi or more.
So if it is an oil pressure issue it is extremely important not to run the car before it is fixed or you will need an entire engine.

2011 Hyundai Sonota Cruise Control: My new sonota's cruise control does not brake the vehicle when going down a hill. The car begins to increase its speed by over 20 km per hr and would exceed that amount...

I just bought a 2011 Sonata and am experiencing the same problem. Going downhill with cruise set at 55 mph; speed increased to 70 mph and was still accelerating (from the downhilll grade) when I finally pressed on the brake.
This is not normal. My Honda Accord never varied from the cruise setting by more than 3 or 4 mph ... going uphill or downhill.

Cruise control won't engage. Light goes on the switch when you press it but cannot set the speed, CRUISE won't light up on the dash.

Check the owners manual to locate the fuse diagram ,and find the fuse that controls the cruise control. Probably a blown fuse or bad diaphram.

How does the cruise control work and the automatic stick shift work in the 2005 hyundai sonata

cruiose control is a seprate system from if you raise the hood you ll see 2 cables going to your throttle body injection 1 will be for your foor peddle and the other for cruise control ther independent from each other as you electonically move the buttons the cable will adjust for speed of what you desire
once the brakes are applied the system will dissengage all together from the throttle untill its is activated again hope i was able to help you with that
not quiet sure on how you meanabout the auto stick shift

Cruise control stopped working in my 2004 Hyundai Sonata

This works...the cruise is directly tied to the brake lights...when I replaced the brake and side light bulbs on my 2004 Santa Fe,,,the cruise started working with no other adjustments. It must complete a circuit or something.
