Red fluid is usually transmission fluid if it is an automatic, if it is not then it is not transmission fluid. Assuming that it is an automatic then just check the fluid level and if it is in the safe zone between the lines then you can drive it, if not then add Automatic Transmission Fluid and you can drive it. You may have noticed it jerking or shifting hard. Hope this helps Tim

I have a red fluid leek at the front of my car(2001 Montana Pontiac) God know's I can not aford this, can I fix it myself ? I have a appointment at 1 today can you help

It sounds like a transmission line has gone bad. Its not an easy fix it takes special tools and time to trace down. It may be best for a mechanic to do it.

2006 Toyota 4runner sport 4.0L V6 2wd bottoms out too easy on front.

Hummmmmm........ either:

(1) Your front struts are worn out or leaking; or,

(2) Your driving style is too aggressive or loads too heavy for your stock suspension to handle.

Jack the front of the car up and remove each front wheel. Look at the strut body to see if there are any signs of leaking fluid or if anything is broken or otherwise amiss. If the struts are leaking, then I suggest you replace with something other than standard replacement Monroe shocks (either Blistiens or Ranchos). If the struts are not leaking, then maybe your driving style is too aggressive for the stock suspension. If this is the case, then upgrade as necessary or change your driving style. Front suspension upgrade would start at $700 and go up from there depending upon the modifications.

I have a 1999 chrysler concorde that cuts off while driving, I have talked to a few people who said it could be the fuel filter but I am having problems finding information on where the filter is located....

BY AYALA TIRES RANCHO CUCAMONGA.
THE LOCATION OF THE FUEL FILTER IS IN THE GAS TANK. YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE GAS TANK IN ORDER TO GET TO THE FUEL FILTER. THIS IS A LOT OF WORK AND VERY RISKY SINCE GASOLINE IS EXTREMELY FLAMABLE AND CARCINOGENIC, IN ADDITION TO THIS PROBLEM MANY FACTORS COME INTO PLAY - IT COULD BE FROM YOUR BATTERY CABLES, AIR FILTER, THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR - MANY THINGS CAN BE INVOLVE SINCE THEY ALL WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH EACH OTHER FOR CORRECT FUEL DELIVERY.

It is leaking muliple substances. one is red leaking on the right side of the car and right next to the red leak its a tube looking thing that is frayed and leaking a clear oily substance, the other is...

The "Red" is transmission fluid, the "Clear" is most likely power steering fluid, or it could be "refrigerent oil" from the A/C. I don't know what could be leaking in the rear of the car maybe oil from one of the rear struts or maybe brake fluid. Do the brakes seem to work OK yet? If so it's probably not brake fluid. It could be condensation coming out of the muffler, there a weap hole in the muffler to allow excess water to run out. It might be picking up some color from the muffler. The transmission and the power steering are the biggest concerns you don't want to let the fluid level get low on either of those. If the transmission is leaking on the right side it's most likely the axel seal or maybe the pan gasket. Neither of these should be an expensive fix. But, you should get it to a shop and have it checked out. Try to find an independent shop instead of the dealer the independents are usually cheaper and do just as good of work. Get an estimate!!

Car is leaking fluid under driver's side - checked the oil levels and it seems fine... (i drive a 97 toyota camry) in addition, i blotted tissue on the leak - it seems like it was almost a dark red,...

A dark red or burgundy color fluid most likely means you have a transmission fluid leak.

Warm you car up for 5-10 minutes and check your transmission fluid level while it's running and you will likely find it to be low.

Oil leak

The Drive Shaft?! If it is the Drive Shaft it is an Easy Fix. You will need to Remove the Drive Shaft and Replace the Seal that is at the Very Rear of the Tranny. Check the Tranny Fluid. Tranny fluid should be your Leak. The Fluid is Red Right?
