The high beam problem is clearly caused by a faulty lever switch - you will have to replace it.
The engine light is on because the ECM has detected a fault - to find out what fault the error codes must be read with a special tool - any shop (or even parts store) can do that for a very small fee. Once you will know the codes you will have to replace the parts labeled as faulty; or verify that they have been properly connected.
