Question about 1993 Saturn SL2

My fuse blew for my cig lighter which I use for my ipod. When I went to replace the fuse, I couldn't find which one it was because on the diagram that is on the back does not say cig lighter. Which one is it?

The lighter is on the same fuse as the locks. If you are looking at the fuse panel inside of the vehicle if is the right-most one in the bottom row. It is a 20 amp fuse.

There seems to be a contact issue common with these vehicles where, without being corrected, this fuse blows quit frequently. I usually suggest finding a skilled friend or mechanic that is able to track it down and fix it for good. Outside of that carrying a fuse tester (usually runs about $3 at most auto parts stores and are very easy to use) and a pack of 20 amp fuses in your glove box is a good idea.

Honestly, owning a fuse tester with any vehicle is a handy idea :)

Research what else is on the circuit. In the old days when cars had more than one cigarret lighter I discovered that a penny fits in the socket perfectly and would cause a short.

Blew a 25 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter, replaced it with a new one but still not getting any power from the cig lighter, is there another fuse hidden somewhere??

No power from the cig lighter if you have a voltmeter youll have to test it for power at its harness behing the cig lighter, just to let you know that cig lighter also wears out and a replacement may be it the fix for you, also there is only one fuse for it

The fuse for my cig lighter in my car connects to the cars on board computer. the fuse blew and while replacing it it sparked and blew the new fuse before it could be inserted all the way. repeated several...

No, that would be a different one. The one to the ECM ,is a 10 amp. the one to the cig lighter also known as ACC.EX.or lighter, will be 20 amp.or more. i would look for a short, it could be the lighter it self. hope this gives you a starting point,if we can be of any further assistance please let us know Thank you.

Cigarette lighter and radio not working on 2002 Honda coupe

They probably share the same fuse. Sounds like cig lighter coil is shorted and "fiddling around" blew the fuse. Replace the fuse and try a different lighter coil.

Need to replace the fuse for the cigarette lighter

I dont happen to have one of those diagrams, but if you pull the fuses one by one and replace the burnt ones you should be able to 1.) Identify what item is on what circuit (for the most part) and 2.) solve your original problem with your cigarette lighter. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for Using FixYa!

Sincerely,
