Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer
Hi yes this is true, i am surprised that the mechanic did not tell you all the service engine soon is, is a reminder that you need a service, this light/information can be reset by a garage quite easily, what happens is, manufacturers put a reminder of a certain amount of miles in the system so you have to take it to the garage to have it serviced, for example, you manufacturer suggests that after 60,000 miles you need a full service, what it does is set the reminder to ( this is just an estimate it could be anything this is just an eg ) 59,500, when it gets to 59,500 it will then throw what appears to some people as something bad up on the dash, this however is not bad, its just a reminder that it needs doing...and after it has been done, the garage will re-set it for you to what ever the manufaturer has put in the system ....hope this helps
