Question about 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
I would suggest checking your coolant levels. if u have plenty of coolant it could be the heater control valve this is something that u would have to take the car to a certified tech to check. another thing could be the blend door or control head this is a difficult one to diagnose with out doing some specific test on the vehicle
