According to my latest Alldata program there is no code P1139 for a 1995 Lincoln Continetal.

Have no reverse in 1998 lincoln continetal

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

You did not indicate if you had a manual or automatic transmission. I will assume you have an automatic. The bands(very similar to what one sees in the front of a jet engine) are spun by the hydraulic fluid moving due to the engine turning over.

The bands for reverse are warn or perhaps gone altogether. I would recommend you have the transmission fixed. This is a sub-skill that only specialist can fix.

I trust I was some help with your problem. Please take the time to rank my advise. This is the only way I can get better at helping others. Please feel free to call me or email.

I have a 95 Lincoln Continetal and I can't push the gas peddle down without force. When i pull the cable from the engine the peddle moves fine. Also when I try to move the throttle it will not move.

Hi if the cable is moving freely than it will be either the throttle body jammed or the throttle pedal has ceased, also check nothing has got jammed behind or above the pedal, hope this helps
