According to Autozone.com:

Headlight Adjusting Screw Operation:Used to adjust headlight beams up or down and left or right, it's located above and to the side of light behind the headlight retainer.

Park the car 25 feet away from a garage door on level surface to aim headlamps at night to get most accurate aiming.

Try to get the light to aim perfectly in the center at the same height as the car's headlamps and directly in front, not side to side.

That's how I do mine on my cars to get maximum safety for the low beams. The high beams are not as important as you don't use those as much.

Make sure the capsules are properly mounted for the bulbs, as this can change the pattern of light that you see at night.

    Good luck on this repair.

    Price:

    $129.99

Wow, Autozone has this single bulb available for $129.99.

It's a HID or high intensity discharge.

So, I can see why you would want it aimed right.

I would use gloves to install the capsule if needed and make

sure it is mounted correctly to get best focus on the objects in front

    of the car.

SOURCE: How can I adjust the headlights on my 2007 Fod

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

If you open the hood and look down behind the headlights, you will see a socket where the wires come in. Turn it counter clockwise and the bulb should pull out. Replace the bulb and reverse the process.

Bulb price is not the issue, longevity is. you MUST NOT TOUCH the glass of the bulb with your finger, or the oils will cause short life of bulb.

Go to this link (http://www.dmitriylerman.net/Maxima/MaximaMain.html). It's the best information I have found. Other solutions I've found say the bumper has to be removed. Someone mentioned that you don't have to remove the tire, necessarily, but it's easier that way.

Headlights need to be aimed properly

of course you can...try fixing it during night time in a place that is dark. in a street that is no traffic is the best place. pop the hood and look behind the headlight assembly. you will see two long screws that can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the screw for up and down adjustments and left and right adjustments
