Question about 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
I bought a used 2004 Chevy Classic a few years ago. It has always had minor electrical problems. The turn signals sporadically stop working. Sometimes the Theft System is triggered when I start the car. I tried banging on the dash board with my fist. That seemed to help. (not just relieve my frustration - the turn signal would go back on). Later after several months of this, I came to realize that when I pushed the 4 way blinkers about half way in all the electrical problems would be solved. So I shoved a penny and a nickel into the side of the emergency blinker button and for six months or so that has held the emergency blinker in place (without turning them on) and I haven't had electrical problems.
Until this week. They have suddenly started giving me problems despite my 6 cent solution. I guess I have to take it in for repairs but I thought I would ask here before doing so. Is there anything I can do so I don't have to pay for repairs. (I have a whole ashtray full of coins, if that will help) Thanks jerry
Actually if you want to save on repairs go and buy a turn signal switch and go to an auto repair and have it replace that way at least you don't have to pay to have it diagnose
and might save some money shoping for prices on switch but main roble here is your turn singal switch since they are an assembly with the emergency swithc
but you can also try to get some electronic cleaner and spry it by the emergency switch while you turn the emergency light on a off many times to try to clen contacts and see if that help good luck.
