May indicate engine is running too lean or too rich. Will need scanning at local garage.

Car jerks going uphill

Maybe! Check your air filter, also go by auto zone, or O'Reilly Auto Parts, have them to check the engine code, it's free! Could be a bad oxygen flow sensor, or other sensor causing this! and you really need to fix that leak. hope this helps!

Have an 04 galant..sometimes when i go to pull off the car jerks back a little bit

Then I would suggest maintaining your vehicle according to the manufacturers recommendations and do what the light is telling you to do. If it has never had a tune-up, I would suppose that it would be safe to assume that it also has never had the timing belt replaced - which makes your engine WAY OVERDUE for BOTH. You are playing with fire my friend. You will be buying an engine very soon if you keep that up!

2000 ford econoline jerks

It does it more uphill because the engine needs more fuel. Its starving. How about replacing the fuel filter.

Burning smell, check engine light-misfire, rough idle 96 cavalier

Sounds like there is a blown piston, to be sure have a compression test done on that #2 cylinder, if the reading is low, then you'll know.
A friend of mine had a 95 that did simular things only a little more,
it started smoking, dash lights flickered, etc. Finally, he had to get rid of it, the piston rod went through the engine block.

Check engine light intermittently flashing, car jerking.

Could be fuel or electrical related. Since you may not know the history, this may take a while.
Any amount of smoke from exhaust? White, Blue, Black?
Start with most obvious and inexpensive:
1. Fuel filer clogged (replace fuel filter).
2. Could be the ECM (Electronic Control Module). It controls the ignition spark timing.
A few other things... consider other expert solutions...

Car stutters at startup

My car did the same thing and I went and had it checked out. They had to replace my mass air flow censor. Cost me a little over $200. The only thing is after I had it fixed, my check engine light kept coming on. They said that my fuel line was running rich because I had ran my car so long with that problem. May want to get that checked out!

Wont stop jerking

Check all lines fittings intake parting line at engine etc for vacuum leaks that can cause your problem. You can spray carb cleaner on suspect components and see if idle changes (not sensors) Listen carefully for any hissing noise while running.
