If you are not mechanically minded, leave it to the garage to adjust as incorrect adjustment can be dangerous.

Could be incorrect brake piston seal size that is binding and not allowing the brake to release when not in use.. OR (more likely) your handbrake cable / mechanism is (partially/fully) locked on that wheel..

Honda Jazz 2007 1.4 rear pads and discs replaced no hold on handbrake still. Adjusted handbrake but still nothing could this mean I need new calibers? Thanks for the previous answers but there is no

Callipers are what hold the pads and the cylinders on the car. They have nothing to do with your problem. However they are attached by 2 bolts that are fixed to the axle housing mount. These bolts will rust up and not allow the callipers to move and centralize on the disc rotor. If you look at the callipers you will see 2 bolts that have what looks like a rubber seal under the head These are the bolts . Although you have adjusted the hand brake, if you have shoes inside the hub of the disc rotor they will have to be adjusted first and not just the lever.

Handbrake doesn't hold

handbrake wont hold due to incorrect adjustment method .
Under handbrake lever cover there is a thread rod with a 10mm nut on it undo it until the nut is level the top of the rod.
2.remove rear wheels
3.remove brake capliers and brackets
4.remove rear disc rotors.
5.get some sand paper and clean handbrake shoes and inside of disc rotors.
6.use a and adjusting tool and adjust the handbrake mechanism until you can feel drag on the rortor.
7.refit brake brackets and capliers
8.refit wheels
9.lower vehicle
10.now the vehicle is on the ground at the hbrake lever use a 10mm socket to adjust rod.
11.adjust the lever so its 7clicks .
12.on lever ground place the vehicle in drive apply hbrake 7clicks and it should hold vehicle..

How do i tighten handbrake on honda crv 2007

yoiu dont touch the cable ,you remove the rear disks and adjust the shoes which are inside the the brake disk, check the type of system first though as it may have the handbrake on the caliper and if this type adjusting the cable will not work anyway as it will not pass the annual mechanical inspection on handbrake efficiency if the knife edge lever points are worn inside the caliper

How to adjust handbrake in honda civic coupe 2005

Do you mena the height of the handbrake?

If you take off the centre console where the handbrake is housed in you will see at the base of the handbrake 2 screws which have some cable running off them through to the rear of the car.

Tighten the screws (sorry i can't remember which direction) and test the hand brake as you go until you have the preferred height.

If you are talking about how to actually make the hand brake grip better, that is a rear brake issue and could be a whole heaps of things (brake booster, master cylinder, brake pads, calipers) etc - if you haven't noticed any issues wiht your brakes though it could be the cable length itself. Tightening it up and if you want any more info let me know integra79@gmail.com

How do i adjust the hand brake cable n a 2006

You have rear disc brakes and the rotors act like drums, with e-brake shoes inside. you would need to remove the calipers and rotors to access the star wheel to tighten up the e-brake.

Were do you adjust handbrake crv r/h drive 2003

dear in most cases it will be very hard to reach adjuster but there is another way to get ur hand brake better

required tools

1- lift jack "big one"
2- proper wrench
3- car supports for safety
4- screw driver

now u have to do the following:-

1- lift up the car from the rear middle but be sure it is in NORMAL gear and hand brake is down
supports for front tires is highly recommended
2- remove both of your rear wheels put wheels under the car as if suddenly car fall it will fall on tires and nothing bad will happen
3- put car supports and both sides of rear Axle for more safety
4- now u can see your brake discs, near center of brake discs u will find a removable knob remove it by screw driver and see in side u will see the hand brake clutch push it by ur screw driver towards the center of the wheel until the maximum u can get
5- repeat last step for the other brake disc
6- restore the knob push it hard using screw driver
7- fix ur tires back, remove supports, lower the car and u r as good as new

hope this will help

regards
