When the brake pads get thin, the computer triggers a light, via sensors. The brake pads are monitored individually.Once you have changed the brake pads, this should cause the light to go out.If the light stays on,then you might want to have the rest of the system checked.

I have a F150 p/u 2000 for 10yrs. Each year I change the brake pads. But the rear pads still looks like new. The front pads are worn down. What can be causing the problem?

normally, you replace the rear brake pads every other change in the front brake pads. for your case, it seems that the front brakes are the only ones working.

bleed your brakes to check if rear brakes are still working. after bleeding, check your brake master if it puts pressure equally to the 4 brakes.

If the brake sensors are rubbed through than you need to change the sensors in order for the light to go out.

When i'm driving in the freeway and step on the breaks the steering wheel start to shake, is the bearing wearing out/

warped rotors are the first things to look at,I would change the rotors/pads first,as you would normally change these at 50k anyway.and if this cures it, its less to do at your major service.....the clue is "when you put your foot on the brake"

About B service on my 2000 clk320

Usually its an oil and filter change, replace key fob batteries, wiper blades and top up screen washer tank plus a check on the operation of all safety components e.g brakes, tyres, steering. Dependant on time since last service and total mileage they might change the brake and coolant fluid. There is usually a list of operations in the sevice booklet if you have one.
