Well, sometimes the lights, the radio, and other accessories will work, but the battery is not strong enough to operate the solenoid. May require charging to get it up to over 12 to 12.6 volts.

However, if the battery is good, and the connections are clean and tight, then I would say the starter has gone bad. The solenoid's plunger is not engaging with the flywheel, and the solenoid is not connecting the circuit that needs to be connected in order for the starter to get full current to its windings and turn the flywheel.

I think it may need a starter, then.

Here's another comment to my problem, I drove it to work and it started but was really weak and sounded like it didnt want to start... Left work started it and again it started but even weaker than before, and once I got home I shut it off and immediately tried starting it back up and it was completely dead, wouldnt even make any kinda noise... and I've waited a couple hours now and tried starting it again, but still the same, completely dead.

Well, it sounds to me that it could be a battery, alternator, or starter problem.

If there is no charge light when the engine is running, and the battery tests out good on a load test, then it's the starter.

However, the starting getting weaker and weaker tells me that it may be a charging/battery problem, even though you have lights and radio and other accessories.

I would have the starting/charging/battery system checked out at a place that sells batteries.
They have a computerized tester that can pinpoint exactly what is wrong with the starting/charging system and will get to the bottom of things in short order.

You could try to get another battery to see if it works right away. And, then if it doesn't, then it's likely to be a starter.

How old is your battery? In my experience 3 years is the average life of a car battery before things start to go wrong.

Also, check those connections, thoroughly, as that can cause symptoms that seem to mimic a bad starter.

My 1990 buick Lesabre started making a loud clicking/ rattling noise yesterday and now it will not start. Then i turn the key it sounds like it wants to start but just doesnt turn over.

Sounds like the alternator. You might want to try seeing if the lights and radio have power. If not it is probably the alternator.

1990 Buick LeSabre - front end groans when I turn the wheels left or right. Started about 3 wks ago, but it wasn't constant at first. Steering pump? Fluid? Belt? Hoses? Ball Bearings? Lube? ...

First of all check the power steering fluid, have someone turn the wheel and listen to see if the noise is comming from the p/s pump, if no noise it is likely comming from the strut bearings. Worse case it could be in the rack & pinion unit.
