My 1997 jimmy will not start when i was driving my jimmy and accelerated it would cut out.It came to the point where it would cut out and not start again

the ignition switch is bad it is under the dash mounted to steering column

Sounds like 2nd gear in the transmission is slipping. Cars usually shift at 15-20 mph from first to 2nd. First check the trans fluid.

throttle postion sensor possibly defective

I think your fuel pressure should be 60-66 psi or it will not start.

SCAN IT SOUND LIKE IDLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM.BUT I AM LOOKING AT VACUUM LEAK AT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD BROKE VACUUM HOSE. OR FUEL INJECTORS SEALS LEAKING.

the only thing in the gas tank that would hummmm would be the fuel pump, and would also cause the car to cut out. Try sraying a litle starting fluid into the air intake and try to start it, if it starts then you have a bad fuel pump

not sure if this is the answer yet but i have the same problem with the same codes i work at an auto parts store and a few of the techs that are customers have lead me in the direction of changing the ignition switch, i am doing it today will let you know if it solves the problem

Could be faulty speed contol sensor.

plug wires for sure are bad with it backfiring

When was the last time the fuel filter was chg. If you can't remember its time for a new one.If it does not help after you chg. filter, best to fuel pressure test, to see if pump is going bad.
