There is a small reset switch you need to push. Sometimes it can be a little tricky to locate.Check owners manual to find the location and you will need a pencil or something pointy because it is recessed. If this does not fix your problem you may have to replace the unit.If so check an auto recyclers to save a lot of money.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Toyota echo 2002 cd player (without cassette, marked 31804) Radio works fine, but when a put on a cd, it reads it and starts playing... with no sound. Any ideas? Thanks a lot

well , as with all discs, old player will NOT play all CDs.
not even close.
first ask an old guy for CDDA disk or buy one from walfart.
then try that, only these disks work in all players.
other disks may or will not work.
like DVD-R, CD-R and any other recordable disks will fail.
that is the acid test, if the CDDA disk works (real audio disk)
works then the drive is ok, if not, its bad. simple as apple pie.
