The Low Fuel Light should only start to operate when there is less than 1 Gallon / 4.5 Litres in the fuel tank. For the light to be on continuously would indicate a chafes wire in the woring loom contacting the body. Check around the area where the fuel guage is located in the top of the fuel tank. Access to it is though a removable inspection panel in the floor of the rear of the vehicle under the rear seat.

Feul gauge not working pontiac montana

This is a common problem and its the sending unit in the tank. They use this same fuel pump assembly in almost all the silverado pick ups and the grand prix. You can find these things on ebay for about 67.00 delivered to the door. Its called the fuel pump module. The sending units float gauge is one of the most common problem gm has and there is some silent recalls on this.So if you want to do some investigating you may find that or call gm and ask them for the recall.I hope this helps you>Thanks for your time and have a great day....

Fuel Gauge needle

The ground is actually next to the feul pump and the easiest way to it is to take the bed off... Sounds hard but really it only 8 bolts. The bed is not very heavy but it obviously will take two people. Unless its bothering you i'd just leave it be for now usually the feul pump will go out between 110,000-130,000miles
