I think it may be one problem and that is the belt is slipping off, more then likely it is the tension er pulley. There should be an adjustment to be able to apply more tension and I think once this is fixed the lights will stop blinking. i hope this helped Tim

Digital dash blinks on and off everytime i use brake pedal

Sound like a bad or loose ground, loose plug, fuse, feel around area above brake pedal and gently wiggle wires to see if you can duplicate dash blinking, if not the dashes digital board may have a cracked solder joint which could be connecting and disconnecting with vibration.

This would be a very difficult problem to solve on a forum like this by not being able to eliminate components. However, after 30+ years of chaising problems like this the first thing that comes to mind is a bad ground somewhere.

The one clue is where you say it all clears up (or mostly clears up) when you hit the brakes. The only thing taking place when you do that is to create an alternate ground path through the brake light filaments.

As a general technicians rule "If it weird, its a ground".

I would start looking at each ground starting under the dash, but the ground problems could be in other places.

It can be difficult to find this kind of issue, and I only suggest this from expierience in the past.

Good luck!

A couple years ago, I dropped a coin down behind the dash of my van, and it has done something to the insturment panel, at times the temp meter don't work, the speedometer don't work, and the gas hand...

The coin probably has nothing to do with the dash problem. That is a common problem among Voyagers. Here is some more info. that might help you. Problem #1 The blinking lights in the rear wiper rear defrost area can be reset by holding 2 buttons of the 3 on the left hand side. The top and bottom buttons. Turn the key on and hold them for about 10 sec and they should start flashing differently. Just let it do this. After they start flashing different. It will take 5 to 10 mins. Then one or more will quit flashing all together. If they don't after about 20 min reset them again it can take about 5 trys sometimes before they all go out. Also to fix the dash going out try this. This is a common problem with the voyager, caravans and Town & Countrys. What the problem is is a cold soder in the interment cluster itself. The problem area is where the plug comes from the van into the cluster. You need to take the circuit board out of the cluster and reheat the soder on the back side of the circuit board were the plug plugs into. This will fix the cold soder permanitly I think its about 16 pins you have to reheat with the soder gun. If you don't feel comfrotable doing that you can just replace the interment cluster and it will be fine but if you buy a used one make sure it was tested. Hope this helps I have done several of them.

Blinking airconditioning lights

Hi there,

TO INITIATE TESTS:
1. Set blower to HIGH
2. Set mode position to PANEL (AC vent air)
3. Open all AC outlets
4. Temp. on full cold
5. Start engine
6. Push WASH and REAR WIPER switches for 5 seconds until all panel lights are on solid
System will then go through it's paces as it calibrates the climate controls
7. When calibration is complete only the REAR WIPER switch/light should be flashing. Press this switch to extinguish the light
This will stops blinking lights.....

Good Luck!!

Thanks

99 Buick Century Custom; Dash lights stopped working.

The problem is with a set of resistors on the back of the instrument cluster. If you remove the trim panel in front of the cluster, there are four screws holding the cluster in. Remove the four screws and remove the cluster. Unplug it from the wire harness and flip it over. Unclip the back black plastic cover. Pull the printed circuit board straight out. Now, flip the board over and look on the top right quadrant just to the left of the trip odometer button. You will see up to four small cylindrical resistors. There should be four, but the solder on these seems to give out and they fall off the board. How I fixed mine was to go to Radio Shack and get 4 1/2Watt 150Ohm resistors and solder them in place of the four lousy ones. Reading the old ones, they ran from 127Ohm, to 154Ohm. Checking on other posts, I have seen that they are supposed to be 125Ohm, but either way, the 150Ohm was the closest I could get and they worked perfectly.
