Question about 1996 Toyota Camry

Open Question

1996 toyota camry no start. Very complicated. I had a did a motor swap. The previous motor started every time and ran perfectly. I installed motor. When it does start it runs perfectly and won't die out. I resused all ignition system parts on the vehicle. I have tested them with labscopes and done resistance tests. They all pass and have good waveforms. When vehicle doesn't start I am not recieving fuel to the injectors or spark. With scan tool on I am getting a reading from the crank sensor. I suspect there is a pinched wire somewhere. I suspect a problem in the wiring going from the crank sensor to the distributor to the ignition coil. Has anyone ran into this problem.

SOURCE: engine died & wont start no spark ignition coil tested good

try your ignition module in the distributor much more likely. just install rebuilt distributor if that is the problem , if you just replace module the main distributor assem will **** out shortly after.
Make sure you check for broken timing belt also it is one of those two!

I think you should check your timing again, check the firing order of the distributor and if they are with there corresponding spark plug. Did you mark the connector or label them before disassembling. Maybe u left the timing in exhaust instead of compression

SOURCE: 91 toyota 3.0 L 4x4 v6 - will crank perfectly but

check with an oscilloscope if the signal comming out of the ECM to the ignition coils is OK. You can see that way if the problem comes from the ECM or not.

My 1996 toyota camry ran heat. so i put water in the resevior tank. now i have to put water in every 3 days.

You need to find your leak. You should have a leak somewhere. You might have a loose clamp. Start your car and let it run for a few minutes. Watch for a leak. Water burns a lot faster then actual coolant. If your adding water, it evaporates. You need a jug of coolant. If you need anything else, let me know. I am here to help.

1996 le 3.0 v6 camry, ran out off gas now it won't start. it pumps fuel and started when you spray starter fluid in it

how do you know that the pump is working and how do you know the pump is pumping enough?

have you measured fuel pressure

furthermore, even if fuel pressure is "good" you may have clogged all the injectors when you ran out of gas and sucked up all the **** from the bottom of the tank

1995 Toyota Camry v6 wont start after running out of gas & refueling

the electric fuel pump inside the tank needs fuel to cool itself. if you ran out of gas and tried to start several times it is possible to burn out the motor. also you will **** all the dirt inside the tank when this happens. either you have to replace the pump or you have clogged the filter

Toyota camry le 1996

a squirel or other small rodent type got in under your car and chewed right through your gas line and so your motor cranks but no fuel gets to it because its all leaking out of your knawed gas line, causing that gas smell. either that or an angry ex- got under your car and snipped them.... or it could be your fuel pump.

Motor swap now it will not start

Unfortunately, there is no easy solution here. I had the same problem with my race car. I swapped a 96 2.2 into my 97 racecar and ended up having to also swap the engine wiring harness, computer, instrament cluster and pass module. The engine harness will bolt to the interior harness even though the wire colors are not the same. Just make sure you match the large yellow wire on the 96 harness to the large purple wire on the 97 harness. It sounds pretty complicated but it only took me maybe an hour to perform the swap. Now I'm back up and running and will be racing again this weekend.
