My Check engine light keeps coming on. I took it to Autozone and their machine said the code meant something was wrong with the fuel cap.

Thats an "evap" issue. There is a lot more to it than just a gas cap, although it's the simplest fix. Make sure it's tight, and give it a couple days of normal driving to see if the light goes away. If not, there are other things that can make the light turn on for this reason...charcoal canister, leaking filler neck, bad gas cap, bad purge solenoid, bad vent solenoid, and on...
Yours is kinda new, so make sure the cap is tight, and give it some time.

Replace the evap control valve located on the evap cannister.
They intermittently stick and hang up. I tried to unstick mine and it worked for a while but did fail again. Changed it and never had the prob again
Good Luck

If it was code P0455, it could be a gas cap that isn't sealing, but it could also be a broken hose at the gas tank or at the EVAP cannister. Unfortunately, I do not have a manual for your car, so I can't tell you where the cannister is. You may be able to find it by tracing the lines from the fuel tank. One of them is a vacuum line and that one goes to the cannister. If you find the leak and fix it, the code should clear by itself within a couple of days of regular driving. If you have more questions, please let me know.

My check fuel cap light came on the other day after having been at the gas station. I later tightened the cap & the light remained on. Now several days later the check engine light has come on too,...

Ok,you could have a bad fuel cap or o-ring on the cap. could be you just didn't quite get the cap on good enough the last time you got gas so in turn the light comes on. unfortunately these things are so sensitive that the light doesn't go out even though you have tried taking it off and putting it back on. My advise is, check out your local auto parts stores. such as Autozone, or Advance. Most auto parts stores anymore will hook up a small scanner to your car and can tell you what the problem may be. not as good as a dealers repair shop could tell you,but should be able to let you know if it is nothing serious or could be. if it is something serious then you would of course have to see mechanical help. and if its nothing serious, like the only thing showing up is gas cap not on good, they can clear out the code and your light will go off and your good to go.if it turns out that's all it was and the code is cleared, and it keeps coming on, you could have a more serious problem and should have a qualified mechanic check it out. if you don't have an Autozone or Advance near you, just check your local auto parts stores and see if they offer the service of checking your vehicle when lights like this come on. and it should be a FREE service. Autozone and Advance is and most should be. i know this is long, but i hope it helps.

I have a 2005 nissan altima.. check engine soon light up what does it means?? what needs to be fix??

The light coming on indicates the your "on board diagnostics" determined there was a problem with the vehicle, there are numerous things that can make the light come on, you will have to take the vehicle to a place that has a scanner to pull the code.
autozone will do this for free

Evap emmision system

The fuel tank pressure switch can be causing this as well as rust or corrosion build up on the gas filler neck not allowing a good seal. Your vehicle may need to be connected to a smoke machine to check for vacuum leaks in the emissions system.

My servie engine soon light is on and sometimes blinks. I took it to AutoZone to check for a code and their machine code reader thing would not come on. What does that mean? I also took it to a sevice...

Even a loose fuel cap or distributor cap can bring up the light . Without codes it will be like shooting in the dark to identify why it is light up. Any fault , anywhere in the car can cause the engine light to come on.
Unless you face any problem in your car dont break your mind over that.

2006 Saturn Relay Check Engine Light

PO455 is a large evaporative fuel leak. A bad fuel cap is ONE of the things that COULD be the problem. Fuel system cleaning only lightened your wallet. Reading your post is confusing. Did all this start AFTER the Valvoline Wallet Flushing? If so , they left something loose or disconnected. I would find a qualified repair shop to fix the problem, and if it has anything to do with what Valvoline did, make them pay the bill.

VSC/ Check Engine Light

My 2000 Lexus GS 400 just had the VSC/VSC off light and the check engine light come on. I would have to push the accelarator peddle all the way down to get it to go. Took it to the Toyota dealer and the code pulled up as the Throttle Position Sensor was out. Purchased one and having it put in. Will update if this fixes the problem.

Orange check light on what does it mean cant tell what the symbol is?

The orange check light is the Check Engine light. This comes on when you have something wrong with the systems/sensors that are controlled by the vehicle's computer. The Check Engine light comes on for a myriad of reasons, the number one culprit is a loose fuel filler cap. What I would suggest to you is to take your car to an Autozone or somewhere where you could get a scanner plugged into your car's diagnostic connector, and get the reason for the light being on identified. Once you have the trouble code, you can get back to me for additional info to rectify your situation!
