Behind the back of the motor there should be a black oil dipstick. Ot is hard to see but sometimes they are read. You have to bend over and look behind driver side center of motor

I have a 1998 ford taurus 3.0l motor were is the location of the shift selanoid.


They are all located inside of the transmission. You have to remove the transmission pan to gain access. Not fun. Sorry.

Have you checked the fluid level with the engine running ,and the vehicle in park?If the fluid level is fine,then have the transmission fluid changed,and filter.If this was at all helpful,please rate,thank you.

My 1998 taurus does not shift into drive or overdrive


Check transmission fluid level. If that's okay, it may be starving for gas because of a partly clogged fuel filter, and the ECM won't allow it to shift. Could also be a clogged filter in the transmission.

ATF leaking from Cooling line connectors at Transmission


Please trace the leakage before you are sure of what to replace. But I bet you will have to replace the entire hoses that distribute the ATF in case of rust or expirt.

gear selector may need adjusted, or a solenoid in the transmission is malfunctioning.best to take to a trans shop and have a diagnostic ran on it.
