Gas spits back when fueling

It sounds like the vent tube on the gas tank may be either plugged, or partially pinched off. Once you start putting gas into it, and have a gallon or two in, does it improve? If the vent is blocked, the only venting you are getting will be around the fill tube you are putting fuel into. Until you get the problem addressed, the only solution is to fill the tank at a reduced rate. Hope this helps.

Cant fill fuel tank without multiple stoppages

The common fault is a kinked evap vent hose to the carbon canister or a defective fuel tank vent valve. These parts are on a tray near the fuel tank under the car. If you wish to read about another persons experience with this problem on a late model Ford read here

Hi my 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe seems to have a blocked fuel vent .When I try to fill it I can hear a whistling and the fuel keeps backing up in the filler neck . Do yoy have any drawings for the routing or...

There may be a problem with your EVAP system.Dirt/dust can get into the system causing a poor fill condition.Replacement of EVAP canister and or vent solenoid may be required.
The canister and vent solenoid are located near the gas tank on the passenger side under the vehicle.

• Fuel fill limiter vent valve stuck closed • Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister restricted • EVAP vent valve stuck closed • Hose between canister and canister vent solenoid twisted or kinked if applicable • High fuel temperature • Fuel filler hose is kinked

Gasoline pump at gas station keeps turning off

There is a vent valve located near the fuel tank. The vent valve is part of the EVAP emission system. If the valve is obstructed or failed, air will not escape while refueling.

Unable to fuel up

I think you are correct in assuming it's the vent tube that goes back to the filler spout, and it's probably kinked or something. I have had to repair a few cars with this problem, but it isn't common. Thanks for the information about the rear camber - they aligned it really well at the factory :) Rick

Problem to fill up gas tank

i have seen this in isolated cases at KIA , there was no TSB but the info was at the KIA site for techs , i believe it had to do with what was called the RORV , (roll over valve) , if i recall the fix was to drop the tank and replace this valve , it was in isolated cases .

Wont let me put gas in it

There is a vent tube that runs down into the tank, it is part of the fill pipe, it allows air to come out of the fuel tank while you fill it, they get kinked or otherwise restricted, that is the only thing that will cause this problem.

Filling up with fuel

Your over flow vent might be a little clogged So if you pull the nozzle out a bit you allow air to push the gas into the tank.
