Question about 1996 Nissan Maxima

Open Question

I recently changed the throttle body in my Nissan B14 vehicle and after doing that my car switches off on its own. I changed the distributor position but this has not helped my situation. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

SOURCE: i have an 1987 nissan

Have the Mass Airflow Sensor checked (it's the black, plastic box the size of a business card on the driver's side of the throttle body). It is VERY common for them to give false readings to the ECU.

We have clean the throttle body on a 2008 nissan qashqai and the rpm are going from 1500 to 2000 and coming back without touching any pedal.we took the throttle switch and the rpm went back to normal.

need to perform closed throttle position relearn and IAVL relearn. unfortunately IAVL gets done with nissans consult scanner, so you have to get a scanner that will do it, or go to a dealerand get it done, but closed throttle position relearn you can do at home by turning the ignition key on for 10 seconds and turning it off for 2 seconds 4 times in a row. you need to perform both operations fot the car to run right / back to normal. when you cleaned the throttle chamber, you changed the closed throttle position because the chamber is clean now and the throttle plate has moved some.

MY Nissan will not stop revving if its on park

Here are a couple of suggestions, check the throttle position sensor. The TPS circuitry can wear over time, whether it is the sensor body itself or its outboard circuits, and can stick in a "run" position when you put your vehicle into park. The result is a high-rev situation. Make sure the neutral-start switch is also working correctly as it, in combination with the TPS, can also cause this type of condition.

Reduced power while driving, car will die and you have to put in park and restart reduced power light will come on

Thus issue is common for the Chevy Trailblazer. That being said, many mechanics will chase the symptoms to issues that are not the real problem causing heafty repair charges. The solution boils down to one of two things;

1. Replace the ignition switch (electrical part). They seem to burn out.
2. Have a full scan of the main computer, it may be bad or going bad.

The later of the two solutions will be the more costly repair. Therefore try the switch first. Good luck

How do I change a oil pressure switch

Most likely its on the back of the engine near the distributor. remove the air ducting to the throttle body so you can see it better. Just unscrew the switch with an open end wrench. If you can't get the wrench on it you may have to remove the distributor. If you do, remove the dist. cap and snap a picture of the rotor position before you remove it so it can be reinstalled in the same position.

No fire for 2004 nissan titan,replaced crank position sensor,throttle body(TPS sensor),spark plugs,fuel pump.

How about the high voltage coil, the high voltage wires to the distributor cap, the cap itself and the rotor inside. Any one of these could be the problem.

sound like you have a distributor that is going bad , the carnk sensor is build into the distributor and sometimes when that gi bad it will cause the car to stall but will not set a code A couple of things here. First, the distributor is probably bad. Second, I would clean the throttle body and check the throttle position sensor. I think the idle air control valve is dirty along with the throttle body so I would clean them first and that should correct the idle thing. The distributor should correct the bucking problem. Now, make sure you have a fresh tuneup like plugs, wires, cap and fuel filter along with a new PCV.

Cleaning thte throttle body is a bad idea on those cars, it has an electronic throttle chamber most likely it needs idle volume learning done with a dealer scan tool or possibly throttle body replacement now.

Abnormal idling when I am about to make a stop

the throttle body air valve or throttle valve needs cleaning.it has a little carbon build up.it will cause it to idle high.get gum out throttle body cleaner. remove all electrical components.also all plastic and rubber parts the gum out cleaner will destroy it. also replace throttle body gasket.
