You have to remove the EGR valve, inspect and repair. It is mounted with two bolts only. If it is damaged beyond repair, you have to replace it with a new one. A genuine cost around $150.

My car suddenly lost power whilst driving along motorway still runs but lack of power

its a VW 1,9 so i assume its a diesel and if so then its most likely to be the EGR valve ,try cleaning it or block it off as this motor also has a turbo then ensure that the high pressure pipes havent split or burst .without my head in the engine i honestly cannot tell you what exactly to look for

04Explorer wont go past10mpg codes say Egrcircuit mal, egrvalve sensor, manifold absolute pressure, barometric pressure circuit highinput, intake air temp circuit mal & intake air tempcircuit high input

Thats alot of codes, and most likely your vehicle has multiple problems. an 04 explorer gets it baromnetric pressure signal via the MASS-AIR sensor near the air cleaner. If there is a problem with that sensor, the intake air, barometric pressure, engine load calculation and main fuel calculations will all be affected or disabled causing the vehicle to run poorly or possibly not at all. Id recommend testing it using fairly advanced equipment and procedures. an OBD2 capable scantool that has datastream and snapshot ability at the very least , coupled with a volumetric efficiency calculator will tell you how well the MAF is doing its job if it is working at all. a labscope or good multimeter can also be used but they are less exact.
Depending on the type of fault and the fuel trim results, the entire problem could be in the Mass Air sensor circuit or its air flow sealing.

The EGR code is a seperate system. worst case if the EGR valve is stuck wide open it could also be a contributing factor to poor idling and MAF sensor codes and r=terrible mileage, however the EGR uses a sensor called Delta Pressure Feedback-EGR. (DPFE for short). This sensor measures the flow of the EGR by checking the differences in 2 different hoses coming off the EGR feed pipe; If either hose has a problem, you get EGR codes, if the valve has a proiblem you get codes, or if the DPFE has a problem, yes, you get codes. the DPFE sensors fail OFTEN! But I would still always verfify function using a scantool with enhanced ford datastream and manual activation ability before recommending a part.

2001 Honda CRV, it will start & then suddenly dies going down road, after a little bit it will start back up & then dies again after you get going

why replace very expensive parts, guessing.?
so runs ok , dies runs ok, dies, ? is that it? hot, and cold?
did you do the 60k tune up yet, this repeats ever 60k miles.
that be first.
then see if you can save the STALL , with a fast right foot action.
yes, and has full power up any hill at that time, its not the fuel pump.
stalls have 4 major causes and 4 tests..
you can do the tests. or spend a fortune guessing, its your car and your bread (cash).
one very common cause is the EGR sticking open , the main EGR valve.
1: 12vdc lost to the EFI system, the dash goes dead. lost elect. power.
2: lost compression , can happen hot engine only.
3: bad spark.
4: bad fueling.
there are simple tools and simple tests for each
do you want to test, or gue$$?

(EGR sticking or iSC sticking both can be clean before spending big cash guessing parts)

the fast foot answer, is the KEY FACTORY answer that
1 question and 1/2 the work stops. ive posted this many times.
and not one answer,
car starts to stall?
i slam right foot to floor.
engine, dies, or
is easy to save stall
or hard,
if i can save it , I IMMEDIATELY check for full engine power.
go that?

Honda accord 2000 x reg cut out on me

ever do the 60k tune up (repeats) the decade?
cuts outs are: many !
1: lost 12v power to EFI systems. (voltmeter time)
2: lost compression,
3: bad spark, (tune up )
4:bad fueling. (filters clogged, again the 60k, ends this)
5: egr sticking, open, the 60k we clean it.

there are tests for each.
but will add one.
1: can you save the stall , with a fast right foot....
easy? tad hard? or impossible.
this is key.

Check engine light came on

What do you mean "can't find code"? If the check engine light is on, there is a fault code stored in your onboard computer - that's the way it works. If you are using a generic OBD code reader, that is most likely the reason you cannot find any codes. You need to use a scanner that has the correct software to access your ENTIRE computer network, not just the "continuous memory" or "generic" side of your computer system.

The window problem is a seperate problem and must be diagnosed accordingly.

Car lost power and started putting out black

The rubber pipe feeding air from the intercooler to the bottom of the EGR valve is probably split - this was the problem on mine - exact same symptoms!
