1st find out if your speedometer is cable driven, some manufacturers have electronic driven speedos. If it is cable driven you should probably lube the cable. If not find a close to empty parking lot and have someone put their head under the dash and listen to see if they can narrow down noise. PLEASE keep in mind Sound travels very well in vehicles! I once had a squeek in the dash that sounded just like it was behind the register only to find out it was a dry latch spring lever that just needed some grease! Out under the hood latch up in front of the radiator.

2005'Towncar. 40k miles. Started making an odd sound on acceleration; hard to describe but sounds like it is coming from passenger dash side. Maybe an air noise?? No sound on very soft acceleration

Turn off heater/air conditioner and accelerate briskly. If noise does not occur problem is probably a regulator in the heater/air conditioning system located under the dash.

Accelerate and noise on driver side sounds like flapping wooshing underneath car

Most all cars nowadays have several plastic water shields fastened under the front of the car.
I believe one or two of those black plastic shields is rubbing one of your tires, or a pulley or some other moving part.
Someone is needing to crawl completely under the car to find this out. Those shields are important, but if one or two is damaged,
removing them should not hurt anything.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Where do you hear the noise? Is it underneath the car or inside the dash? If it's underneath the car then you may have worn suspension or stabilizer bushings and this will surely need replacement. If it's inside the dash then there might be a faulty relay somewhere that can cause a clicking sound.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Clicking, sticking sound from front end, drivers side

It is your cv joint that is bad. If you jack the van up on that side, check to see if the boot is ripped...and more than likely your cv joint is about shot...even if the boot is intact.

The cv joint is bad....

When im driving my truck i can here a clicking noise coming from the outside of driver's side. It would come off and on, or sometime when i reverse and sometimes depend on how fast the truck is moving....

Sounds like you have a bad CV joint. Roll down your windows and drive the vehicle slowly while turning to the left and right. If you hear clicking coming from your drivers side then your CV joint bearings are worn. Replace the CV arm.

2002 audi tt overheating. overheats at idle. have changed waterpump and the thermostat and the temp sensor and was good for a couple days then same problem

It does sound like the dash pod is faulty. I have had dashes pass cycle tests but turn out to be faulty.
Check when the car is hot, that when you key off and then key just the ignition on that the gauges (fuel and temperature) move slowly and smoothly up to there correct position. If they move very quickly, almost instantly, to there position then this is a sign of a faulty dash.
Let me know the out come.

Toyota tercel flasher replacement

Try this before you pull the dash. Turn the ignition switch on, then, by hand, move the turn signal on an off slowly, while at the same time look under the dash. As the turn signal goes on and off each time you move the handle, you will be able to hear it click. Follow the click and you may find it is within reach without pulling the dash.
