Question about 1996 Pontiac Grand Am
Any time you have a check light or any other lights. You have a possible system failure,and need to have it checked for a possible code,then diagnosed and repaired.
If you have inspection in your state,it will fail
Not to be hurtfull,but,these sort of lights have been on most all vehicles for 30 years.
There is no reason, anyone owning a vehicle, shouldn't have an owners manual,and be aware of the vehicles operation,as far as check lights.
This was brought about 30 years ago,in the US at least,as part of a program, to reduce exhaust emissions.
