IS it possible to replace the battery cables on a 2003 expedition without much car knowledge? Our mechanic wants 500 to replace the cables yet the cable is only $8 from what I can see online... Thanks so much Kimmy

2000 expedition won't stay in park

More than likely you can fix it yourself. There is a possibility first something has fallen into the shift mechanism and is blocking it from going into park. The other possibility is the shift interlock cable may have slipped off, or the cable broke.
To fix this you would have to open the shift console. The interlock cable is the small one, it should attach to some sort of lever that prevents the car from shifting into or out of park.
I hope yours has a floor shifter rather than a column shift, they are easier to fix. The last possibility is there is something in the engine compartment that is preventing the shift lever from reaching park, and though it's not likely I've seen it happen before.

Why 2003 expedition lock stop working?

Without factory service manuals to learn the system &
items your having problems with, you can't do a thing

You have no where to start, you know nothing about the vehicle

Always need reference material before you approach any
vehicle.

Checking fuses & relays, doesn't explain your knowledge of
those items, or if you tested them at all

All those problems are on the body side of the vehicle

Thru about 2003 you may have a GEM Module that controls
body items & several relays
You need wiring diagrams to walk down the problems as you
do your testing

It is possible the PCM has all the functions, you can Google that
info.

I thing your beyond your ability without reference material &
experience to resolve, you need repair shop help

I changed the battery conectors on my 2003 expedition and now my a/c will not come on

Did you cut the terminal end off the battery cables? I would just replace both with OE type cables. Did the A/C work the day you did the batt cables? It may have a separate issue, such as a leak.

My husband is not mechanically savvy. That being

It isn't too difficult just do one at a time. Disconnect from your battery and then disconnect other end where it attaches to engine. There may be brackets along it's length that will have to be removed that secure it make sure to reinstall these on the new cables. I would suggest though before attaching your actual ends to your battery go ahead and replace bothe cables so you don't accidently arc your positive cable anywhere. It's just a safety precaution. Remove your negative battery connection before starting procedure.

Broken coil bolt on my 2003 Expedition.

If the small piece of the bolt is still showing you can use some pliers to take it out. If not try to drill it out and then just replace the bolt.
