Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 2WD

1 Answer

I had my truck completely repainted at an autobody repair shop and when I got it back, the headlights were not put back in an alaigned manner. I've tried adjusting them myself by facing the garage door but did not get it right?

Check the bulbs themselves, to make sure the socket is put in the housing properly.

My key won''t turn and the steering wheel is stuck to i tried everything this is the first time this has ever i have to take it to toyota dealership to get it fixed?

there is a defective mechanical part between the lock cylinder and the column. keeps the column from turning as a theft deterrent. that part is going to be an expensive dealer item. however if you buy the part, most any repair shop can put it in for you. i would call around to autobody shops and see their labor rate, might be cheaper and faster and they are more used to taking interiors apart than your general repair shop.

My door handle on the drivers is broken. I want to replace it myself. I have the part, the door handle itself is an easy fix for me , but I'm not sure how to remove the door panel itself. My 1998 Cadillac...

save yourself some time, skinned knuckles, and grief and take the whole thing to an autobody shop. They can put it in for you quickly and fairly cheaply. I did not say dealer, i said autobody shop.

Hi. how would i repair a rear axle for a 2006 toyota corolla? i dont have a lift so will i need to take it to an autobody shop? if so how much do these repairs cost usually?

What are going to do to repair the axle? There really is no axle on front drive cars, the wheel assembly is connected to a hub that is mounted to the frame through swing arms. And, you would not take your car to a autobody shop for mechanical work. The cost of repairs depends on what is being done.

Looking to repair rocker panels want to remove plastic panel first with out breaking clips that attach to body

Your best bet would be to check your local area for stores that carry auto paint and body work supplies. These are not "auto parts" stores. They are true paint/body work stores where you can purchase supplies to repair body work and repaint vehicles. Here in Minneapolis, we have quite a few. They have a specialty tool for this purpose. Your other option (if the vehicle is driveable) is to drive to a local autobody shop and ask them to pop it off. It'll take them about 5 minutes to do and depending on the shop, may not even charge you if it's a slow day.

03 Escape not charging, no radio or interior lights.

I think you are absolutely right. Some of these autobody shops hire monkeys that can barely tie their shoes. They forget things like tightening battery cables and they fail to anchor down wiring or even inspect it for damage. They want the car in and out so they can make more money.
Yes there is more possible damage, though the car accident may have caused it. Your locks should work regardless of the key position. As should your interior lights. Start with checking the fuses and hope you find it there. Something also might be burned out in the ignition switch cutting the power to the locks and lights in the off position. Not really sure how that one is wired up to be honest. Really hoping it is just the fuse.

The driver's side outside door handle is loose, toyota celica '95

I assume that the entire handle unit is loose in the body work of the door.
The interior door trim will need to be removed to access the inside of the door to fix the loose handle.

Do not attempt his yourself unless you have some experience in this area.
Take the vehicle to the nearest reputable auto body repair shop and they can easily fix it for you. There could be a breakage on the retaining system on the handle or the retainers may just need tightening.

Typically door handles which have not been subject to damage or abuse will not usually loosen like this. It's possible the door was damaged and the panel repaired and repainted at some stage. If so the door handle may have been removed and refitted in a sloppy manner.
