It's your blend door actuator which is sticking. Probably the plastic teeth on the cog inside are worn. It is white plastic and is located behind your radio. It controls the opening of your blend door from A/C (closed) to heat (open). Buy a Ford Windstar radio removal tool from any parts store (less than $10.00) remove the radio. You will then have access to the actuator. At the bottom right you will see a little plastic wheel with an indented square. Find a long flat head screwdriver that wil fit diagonally into the square and turn it clockwise slowly. The blend door should pop open and heat will enter the cabin. Finally when you have the time replace the unit. They sell for about $75.00 at the dealer or cheaper elsewhere. Good luck. This worked for me.

Sounds like air is trapped. Park uphill. loosen cap on cold engine, let it warm up and see if it burps bubble of air. Fill radiator and reservoir, tighten cap, let cool. Repeat a few times.

If not burped, get shop to do evac/fill with their evac/fill equipment.

Make sure heater hoses are hot going into heater core and coming out. may be a bad controller or heater water valve if equipped.

2003 ford windstar, my heater hose is leaking at the connection to iron pipe, I need a diagram to figure out how to fix

Most likely while you are in there it's time to replace the hose. Saves having to go back if it starts leaking on the other end which is highly likely given the age. There should be a return heater hose, it is probably in similar condition. Diagram may be available via google. Youtube may show you how to. A very bright led flash light will allow you to see and trace the heater hose. You'll need to drain the radiator save the antifreze if new. Replace if old. Any other cooling system hoses need to be replaced? How is the water pump. It's not the leak is it? Otherwise Library probably has repair manual, or may be time to invest in repair manual. Lightly used may be available on Ebay and others. New hoses are cheap insurance against possible failure.

2003 Ford Windstar heater acuator located?

Is the heater not working in the front of the van, but is working in the back? You might mean the 'blend door actuator'. It's not easy to get to. The correct way is to remove the dashboard. Search YouTube for 'Windstar blend door actuator' to get some ideas.

Driving a 2003 Ford windstar. Went to pass and

Very common on this make and model trans, pump drive splines inside torque converter strip out and pump is not turning, Most times there is no damage to pump shaft. Remove trans and remove torque converter, inspect the splines at the very bottom of the hub hole. If stripped out inspected pump shaft splines which are the smaller center splines coming out of trans, if ok replace torque converter and re-install trans, change out fluid, clean any metal from magnet and replace filter, fill with fluid and verify proper operation.

Try tapping on the starter[passengers side and in line with the tire],it may be a coincidence and the brushes need to be replaced.Brushes wear out without warning and if you can't install them then a starter repair shop can,or replace the starter.Merry Christmas and good luck!

High pitch noise seems to be steering and temperature related.

I have a 2003 Ford Windstar also. You probably will need to replace the power steering motor. It will get worse, and if it goes out, it may lock up your serpentine belt, and you'll be on the side of the road.
