Question about 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

1 Answer

Subject: Repair Hyundai H100 clutch problems 2006 model. I am the owner of a 2006 Hyundai H100 light truck. Recently, the clutch after being depressed would not spontaneously, return to its normal position. To correct the problem the inner part of the slave cylinder was changed. However, the problem is still present and occurs during conditions of heavy traffic when frequent depression and use of the clutch are necessary. To somewhat alleviate the problem the vehicle must be brought to a standstill, remove foot off the clutch for a couple of seconds during which time the clutch pedal will gradually rise to normal position. If this is not done the gears will grate when an attempt is made to change gears or the gears will just not change. The problem is very annoying. I have tried to obtain the service/workshop manual for the vehicle without any success to date. I will be very happy if FixYa can help me to solve this problem by providing advice on how to approach this problem and helping me obtain a service/workshop manual for the vehicle. Many thanks Henry.

Thank you sir for the solution that you provided. It seems very likely that it will work. It was applied yesterday. I will be testing it over the next few days, under strenuous conditions, to see what happens. When the testing is over, I will report to you.

    With kindest thanks,

    Henry.

Cant help with a manual ,it sounds like the spigot shaft housing that the thrust bearing slides on is dirty and gummy ,now what i would do here is to see if i can get the long spout of my oil can with engine oil in through the clutch arm hole and give it a squirt ,then fit a fairly light spring between the end of the clutch arm and somewhere on the gearbox ,even if you have to make a bracket and fix it to an existing bolt hole ,this will cure your problem iam sure as nearly all vehicles here in europe are manual and in this part of europe where its dry and dusty this is a very common problem for me ,that and old people whos knees are reumaticey and they rest their foot on the clutch and burn the clutch out .Another big problem is these automatic clutch adjusters made out of plastic ¿¿ what a fiddly job to replace these are .

I don't know if this picture shows any justice, but as it shows, following (a), it seems to be somewhere off the fuel line. This could be located under the vehicle. But as we don't service or sell these in Canada my system only gives me this picture.
I hope this helps.

Passenger side airbag light wont stay off

This subject is covered in the 2006 Ford Escape Owner's Manual starting on page 116 under the heading of "Front Passenger Sensing System". I highly recommend that you read this FIRST.

If you do not have your 2006 Ford Escape Owner's Manual you can get a free PDF version HERE. (direct link to file)

If after reading the Owner's Manual, you are convinced that the problem is a malfunction (not normal operation) and is not caused by operator error, I recommend that you take your vehicle to a certified auto repair technician (or Ford Dealer) for diagnosis and repair. I DO NOT recommend attempting ANY KIND of do-it-yourself diagnosis or repair on any supplemental restraint system components without the proper training and equipment.
