Question about 2003 Kia Optima
It is inside the fuel tank.

Sorry to all of the people who say there's a fuel filter in the tank. But I just removed the pump and sending cluster, thru the access port in the trunk of my '03 Optima. All I found on the unit was a fuel sock. Not a large filter with 2 fittings on it. Which is what you'll get if you buy one at the auto parts store. I also just got off the phone with a well respected import mechanic in my area. He said that alot of Kia's don't have fuel filters. Reason! Some engineers believe the fuel we get now days is so top quality that filters are not needed. LOL! By the way the sock's only purpose is to remove large particles that some times occur in the tank from rust or corrosion. It can usually be cleaned with throttle body cleaner and not replaced.
